A federal appeals court just upheld a New York state ban on gas stoves, which is very strange, considering the fact that Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer of New York insisted that the ban on gas stoves wasn’t even happening.
This has all been unfolding quietly in the background for about two years now.
Groups which are part of the gas industry challenged the ban but a federal court just sided with the state.

For those who think logically it makes no sense to ban NG, yet this is where the donations and crooked payoffs come in. This is a good example how these criminals get rich.
As half the State he “represents” sits atop the Marcellus shale deposits.
Meanwhile, the heavily botoxed slag who tripped her way into office is begging NY’ers not to run air conditioners during a heat wave because the grid can’t take heavy electricity use.

Interesting question. I say interesting because I had the same question a long time ago about CO2 in it led to many revelations. Fundamentally, my journey led me to one inescapable conclusion. Socialists, by nature, are authoritarian in all of their forms. Democratic Socialists, Communists, nationalist socialists, ect., all believe that the are just a few control points away from their happiness and societal utopia. The items seem small at first, then as their power grows the need to fix things causes them logically to take over everything. Then in the ridiculousness of the past decisions, they double down, and eventually result in force to maintain control. Sometimes they are smart enough to use violence against neighboring nations to buy some time by fooling the people, but eventually the system collapses.
The really strange thing is, that most of the socialists are complete failures in the real world, and are so embittered that they can’t find happiness! Greed seems to be an overwhelming trait of the socialists leaders. Historically, they see no reason to support a society that ‘failed them’, will take power and wealth, and redistribute to themselves. Like I mentioned, it still brings no happiness and certainly no utopia, but they bask in power and control.
So yes, I believe that these people, just like those who display TDS, maybe suffering from mental illness. The vocalization of socialism 120 years ago, not knowing how it turns out, might not have been. My parents used to say that doing the same thing over and over again, expecting a different outcome, was the hallmark of insanity. How many more Hitlers, Stalins and Mao’s must the world suffer?
Wait until some entrepreneur attaches one to his e-scooter. I saw somebody yesterday that repurposed a 5 gal plastic pail into a seat and installed it onto a stand up scooter.

You can control people more easily if they are dependent on a single source of energy. Watch NY start to ban generators and solar panels. Oil and gas furnaces, too. Smart Meters will keep them compliant.
I bought a t-shirt with a picture of a gas stove with “come and take it” emblazened above it, back when this first hit the news. One of my favorites.
Was it a 10th amendment issue? If it was, it sucks but the state could do what it wants. Still I think it will go to the Supremes.

Wisconsin once banned margarine, because “The Dairy State…”. That backfired. People developed the underground margarine railroad. My relatives would bring margarine from Illinois.
States adjacent to New York are likely developing the underground gas stove railroad.
The politicians and bureaucrats in the State of New York can’t be obvious about the status of corroded leaky pipes throughout the gas line infrastructure for fear of the impact on bond ratings and the drop in investing in New York. So they instead restrict new gas appliances.
