Just a few years ago, wearing a sombrero on Halloween could get you banished from polite society for the social crime of “cultural appropriation.” Nutrition experts argued that preventing obesity was a form of racialized “fatphobia,” even as scientific names of songbirds were purged in a moral campaign presumably aimed at white supremacy. Meanwhile, a slew of studies and papers and articles argued that punctuality, excellence, and other forms of professionalism are “the systemic, institutionalized centering of whiteness.”
Today, as universities are dismantling their DEI bureaucracies, corporations are scaling back antiracism training, and academic trigger warnings and diversity pledges have become punch lines rather than cudgels, it is tempting to believe that the excesses of the woke movement have not just peaked but are a thing of the past, a passing fever dream of a peculiar era.
Such thinking, however, underestimates the power and persistence of “wokeness,” which was never a spontaneous outburst of moral righteousness born of COVID lockdowns and rage over George Floyd’s death, but a philosophy and a worldview that were decades in the making.
The success of candidates backed by the Democratic Socialists of America in recent congressional primaries in New York and mayoral races in Los Angeles and the District of Columbia underscores the enduring appeal of a leftist moral framework that casts American society as a Machiavellian struggle between the oppressors and the oppressed.
Although the DSA’s ascendancy in Democratic Party politics is a relatively new phenomenon, RCI’s analysis of high-profile issues that have defined the movement in recent years – from slavery reparations and polyamory to transgender advocacy and anti-colonialism – reveals that this dogma is still percolating through the culture, with some new outbreak almost every week. These deeper currents indicate that the DSA is not a driver but a reflection

It amazes me that anyone would vote for a DSA candidate. Many people missed that day in school when they taught history.
I remember hiding under my desk during air raid drills in early elementary school. We were scared of Communists.
It’s cute you think the government schools, which are generally run by Leftists, teach that Leftists murdered 100 million in the 20th Century, and that Leftism was and is a huge failure economically.
Buckle up, communism is coming.
And we’re not even going to get cool Soviet communism with art, science, a modicum of competence, and hot Russian babes.
We’re going to get Islamic gay race tr00n communism with dysgenic 70-IQ brownoid kommissars calling the shots. The communism coming here will be like the Khmer Rouge except more retarded.
Two extremes to avoid about woke: complacency and discouragement.
“We’re going to get Islamic gay race tr00n communism with dysgenic 70-IQ brownoid kommissars calling the shots. The communism coming here will be like the Khmer Rouge except more retarded.”
Sadly, I couldn’t agree more. The rebuttal is that the middle of the country will remain sane, and save us. I don’t think so. When you factor in the decades of indoctrination in the government schools, the media’s all in push for communism, and the silence by otherwise sane people, I think the outcome is clear.
You are correct. So many people do not see what is about to happen. If they could see, they would repent, truly repent and turn back to God. That is not happening. Charlie Kirk literally tried to get the college bunch to see the need for that and was killed. The train is coming and the car is stuck on the tracks.
Same here. Not only did we have nuke drills in my elementary school we also had tornado drills too. The nuke drill had us under our desks and the tornado drill had us out in the hallways facing lockers shielding our heads.
We also had commie May Day celebrations. Talk about insanity. This was a long time ago in government schools and the situation has only worsened. As the DSA elections illustrates, it’s imperative to end the government’s involvement with education. People need to wake up, it may be too late…
Woke is hard to kill...
I am not aware of a single public school in the US that teaches about the evils of communism and socialism and how they are proven failure that never work. And certainly not that communists killed 10X more people than the Nazis in the 20th century.
History isn’t taught snymore.
No its not. They will try it in selected enclaves where the free stuff crowd reign supreme and it will fail- because you know , its communism….rich folks who are supposed to fund the free stuff are smarter than these scumbag politicians. The same folks who voted the Communists in- will eventually be the ones holding the bag.
No, they wouldn’t.
The truth will set you free.
But these followers don't want to be free.
“”People need to wake up, it may be too late…””

The ‘people’ that need to wake up are not asleep. They’ve simply been brainwashed and indoctrinated to believe the leftist liars and to loathe those on the right that know the truth. And ... those on the right that know the truth are of a generation that will die off over the next decade. After that, what? Disaster... I’m betting. We are already seeing glimmers and samples of the disaster that’s headed our way.
The DSA is only taking advantage of the fact that lazy voters don’t want to vote and just lay there and take it. I’m convinced there is a silent majority but I’m not sure if they’ll wake up in time to save our Republic.
Except it's spreading all across the country and the "we want free stuff" crowd is growing.
I never thought I'd imagine the day when Diana DeGette losing her race was bad for the country but here we are.
I'm also old enough to remember, "California is awesome, only San Francisco is weird. Colorado is great! Only Boulder is crazy. Texas is paradise, just stay out of Austin."
Dismiss them at your peril.
I’m convinced there is a silent majority

That might be true, but the people running for office as Republicans are not very good, so even voting for them won’t stop the decline of the country.
