Radical socialists stage hostile takeover of Democrat Party.
Democrats in New York City celebrating the primary victories of socialist candidates backed by Mayor Zohran Mamdani endorsed the ouster of Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) Tuesday night, revealing fractures in the Party between old guard and far-left factions.
Footage from socialist NYC Assemblywoman Claire Valdez’s victory party showed revelers chanting “You’re next!” after an image of Jeffries was shown on TV.
Tuesday’s enthusiasm came as Valdez was one of three socialist NYC candidates now vying for House seats, while far-left candidate Darializa Avila Chevalier also defeated five-term incumbent Rep. Adriano Espaillat.
Radical left former New York City Comptroller Brad Lander, who has called to defund the police, also defeated incumbent Democrat Rep. Dan Goldman in New York’s 10th Congressional District, in a major upset for the establishment.
The animosity towards House Minority Leader Jeffries, who has been considered a viable candidate for House Speaker, follows a CNN interview in 2025 in which he remarked he didn’t believe Mamdani was the future of the Party.
While Jeffries shrugged off the apparent loss of control over the Party and noted he had a “great working relationship” with Mamdani…
other Democrat lawmakers like Sen. Raphael Warnock (Ga.) see the writing on the wall and are getting with the program, telling CNN that Dems have a “big tent.”
Similarly, following the socialist victories, Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), whose own seat is under threat from far-left Mamdani ally Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), told The New York Post the elections showed “a great united party.”
To President Trump, the radical “socialist” candidates who won are essentially “really Communist.”
Indeed, Chevalier has espoused some pretty remarkably far-left stances, in addition to an organization she oversaw calling for “the total eradication of Western civilization.”
Chevalier also at one time claimed on social media that she used the American flag as a napkin, before reportedly deleting the post.
Likewise, NY State Assemblywoman and Democratic Socialists of America member Valdez has revealed her agenda includes Freeing Palestine, abolishing ICE, and free housing for all.
Another Mamdani-backed candidate who held onto her New York State Senate seat on Tuesday night, Aber Kwas, has been on record calling 9/11 America’s fault due to its “system of capitalism, racism, white supremacy and islamophobia.”
As one staffer for Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) put it, “AOC is now a moderate compared to these wackjobs. The lunatics have taken over the asylum.”
While Schumer and Jeffries claim it’s business as usual, the hostile takeover by socialists illustrates how the Democrat Party is becoming more radicalized and moving further left.

Wiping her ugly face with our American flag was one of the worst, to me. After our troops lost eyesight or arms and legs fighting to preserve our flag and our country’s freedom-—for the worthless scumbags like her to flourish. First big mistake was allowing women to vote. The second biggest mistake was allowing women to become politicians. The third biggest mistake will be if a woman is allowed to be the POTUS. Kiss America goodbye when that happens.
Unfortunately, he won his primary. He didn’t even have an opponent on either side of the aisle. I think we’re stuck with him for a while. He is the worst too.
We kicked out a lot of rhinos this year. So we cleaned house I suppose they’re gonna clean house too what it will do is make each side dig in even more.
