The British are coming … to apologize.
With the World Cup taking over towns all across the nation, travelers from the UK are getting a taste of the Red, White and Blue. And tons are offering up apologies along the way.
Many Brits have acknowledged on social media that their assumptions about the US were wrong.
In a string of TikTok’s from across the pond, Brits are earnestly sharing their experience in the US and revealing the media in their country “paint this weird narrative” about Uncle Sam.
“America is nothing like what the media tells us,” said World Cup traveler Oliver Henry, on TikTok as @oliver.henry.w, in a recent post.
Some of those tales told: Americans are rude, inhospitable, unsafe and proud — just to name a few. But folks are spotting a different side to the country, and falling in love.
Host cities have been welcoming outsiders with open arms as they take our commonplace for wonder. Our red fire trucks, Walmart, Buc-ee’s and free refills have tourists in awe of our heartland.

The free refills at McDonald’s has been cut back. You have to get an employee to refill your cup now. I won’t say what group of people led to this change, but we all know who they are .

I'd add an exception with respect to driving on I-10: do not have a bumper sticker on your car that says 'I voted for Harris, I'm gay, and I'm here to take your guns'.
LOL, all these Europeans loving America are just playing to American pride so they can get lots of clicks on their instagrams and tiktoks. And Americans are eating it all up
I dunno, their liking huge portions of food and unlimited soda refills isn’t necessarily a good thing… it does show the world that we have food in abundance ( a lot of it unfortunately wasted ).
I especially like reading about some university towns that have been the practice location for various teams. Some of these towns are embracing their World Cup visitors with flags and welcomes of many types. This is even for countries that most Americans, including me,do not know much about
I’m very happy that the World Cup expanded the number of teams just in time to be held in North America (mostly USA). There are many teams that are so excited to be playing because it is their first time.
That is all we export from hollyweird and cnn.

I'm not part of the group known for such things. I suppose that makes me a White Supremacist and worse than Hitler.
Perhaps they will begin to question it now as a result of their eyes opening a bit.
