Angry protesters in Albania vandalized a construction site linked to a controversial development project, accusing political leaders of enriching themselves at the expense of ordinary citizens. Demonstrators denounced Prime Minister Edi Rama and opposition leader Sali Berisha, saying Albanians have been forced into emigration while their ancestral lands are exploited. That is a good point, but reading about Albania it seems as though the entire nation runs on corruption, very much like any Middle Eastern Muslim state. So maybe the developers should just give the people a piece of the action. "Baksheesh," as the Persians say.
