ET: The Extraterrestrial, the titular alien is seen eating and drinking all manner of human foods and beverages from chocolates to tins of beer.
In reality, however, it is unlikely that an entity that lived and evolved on another world would be capable of consuming and digesting the same types of foods as we are.
Professor Jose Miguel Soriano del Castillo of the University of Valencia ,,,argues that dining on the same foods that humans eat would be highly risky for a visitor from another world and that their best bet would be to instead seek out the individual nutrients and raw materials of food such as water, nitrogen, salts and basic organic molecules.
As for what an alien might typically eat on its own planet - it's difficult to speculate because it depends entirely on the biology of the alien and the nature of its planet's atmosphere.
If we were ever in a position in which we had to provide food to an alien visitor, we would likely need a whole team of scientists and nutritionists to determine what it could and could not eat.
Feeding it the wrong thing - no matter how well-intentioned - could prove fatal.

“Could I hope they would eat “influencers”?”
LOL...yes!
Memory of a movie years ago called War of the Worlds had the aliens dying from basic germs in our atmosphere that society had become immune to. They might die of indigestion or gas, or even the common cold germ.

Del Castillo is a professor...of what?
Pure conjecture? Waste of electrons posting that B.S.
The Twilight Zone episode that really got to me was when the little girl fell into another dimension under her bed and her father’s attempts to find her. I think it was titles “Little Girl Lost.”
“If aliens had to survive on Earth, what exactly would they eat?”
takeout ...
though i saw on one TV show that they have a special cookbook for use on Earth ...
What are they eating now?
Guitars.

I would hope its mosquitoes… and flies and fire ants.
Plantains too. Deep fried, of course.
I was just wondering this afternoon what the auction value of that prop would be today—“To Serve Man” was the title, I think.
“The Doppleganger” is the best one ever. Sends a shiver up my spine every time I think of the scene in thw bathroom where she sees herself standing behind herself.
Well, there was also the one in which the family had a bomb survival shelter and they wouldn’t let the neighbors in .. and who can forget the one with Burgess Meredith in which he gets his wish of living alone on Earth with his books, only to have his glasses get smashed?
for those of you who have grandchildren, etc., the original series is on amazon for less than a $100 for the dvds. don’t expect CGI if you haven’t seen original.
probably enough clips on youtube to figure out if you’d want to show it, when they visit, rather than not having them only watch whatever is getting pumped at their minds.
maybe 60 seconds of them head-tilting at a black and white video, what is this “you unlock this door with the key of imagination, beyond this door is another dimension...” before they are engaged in a story.
The Duke, am not forgetting either of those.
