One of 15 Minnesotans charged with conspiring against ICE officers turned herself into officials Wednesday morning.
Federal officials arrested most of the defendants Tuesday and they had their first appearance in court for efforts to “violently oppose immigration law enforcement."
U.S. Attorney Daniel Rosen had called the defendants yet to be detained "fugitives at-large."
But one of them, Natasha Rakotz, denies the charges — and the label.
“I think all of this is absolutely ridiculous. I am not a violent person. I've never been violent. I've never had trouble with the law,” she said. “The only thing I did was care about my community, and my neighbors…I can't just sit there and not do anything, but I definitely would never do anything illegal.”
Rakotz says she was home when law enforcement came knocking Tuesday. She called her lawyers and had waited for them to verify the warrant.
Attorney James Cook says he went to court on her behalf Tuesday and let prosecution know she was willing to comply.
The 45-year-old Minneapolis resident faces charges for assault and “conspiracy to impede or injure a federal officer.”
The indictment alleges Rakotz tracked license plates of federal agents' cars and shared findings in Signal group chats. It also claims on or about May 18, 2026, she followed a federal immigration officer’s vehicle from the Whipple Building while driving a Honda Civic, “brake checked” the officer and “side swiped” their vehicle, leading to a collision. This reportedly “caused physical contact and inflicted bodily injury” to the officer, according to the document.
Rakotz and her attorneys declined to comment on her involvement during the ICE surge or on the alleged collision.
Her neighbor Jodi Wishart vouched for Rakotz outside the courthouse.
“She is the kindest person, and so gentle, and so just peaceful,” Wishart said.
Wishart says Rakotz, an in-home healthcare aide, had worked for an elder neighbor and did such a good job that the family invited her to continue living at the house for free even after the woman died.
Rakotz was arraigned and posted bond at a hearing Wednesday afternoon. Rakotz and at least 12 codefendants were out of custody as of Wednesday evening.

"I definitely would never do anything illegal.”
The bodycam/video footage will clearly show otherwise.
"Her neighbor Jodi Wishart vouched for Rakotz"
MPR News bending over backwards to help out the accused.
I share the neighbor’s dismay at this injustice. She seems very normal and looks so nice. I can’t believe these scurrilous charges
“She seems very normal and looks so nice.”
I know, right? The combo pink-AWFL/shaved-babboon hairdo is super cute! ;)

She should be arrested for her looks alone. It should be a felony to be this ugly.
Dude, you got into some bad stuff.
Well, she certainly has a definite, pink haired, gravitas....
Wood you?
FA FO. Moron
She's a witch?
She’s pretty.
PRETTY UGLY!
Side swiping cars is a gesture of Minnesota Friendly, their version of Hey Yall in the South. It’s like a gentle hockey check.
If FAFO was taught in her school, Ms. Rakotz must have been absent that day.
Except...

That was...not so awesome...yeah...
Her nose is growing as she speaks
She called her lawyers and had waited for them to verify the warrant.

“Her lawyers” my hind end! And, with “cops at the door”. I’ve been paying lawyers small fortunes for decades and it would take me one to two days to get “my lawyers” on the phone. In my opinion, she was calling a clerk at a non profit law firm funded by Soros et al.
“I think all of this is absolutely ridiculous. I am not a violent person. I’ve never been violent. I’ve never had trouble with the law,” she said. “The only thing I did was care about my community, and my neighbors…I can’t just sit there and not do anything, but I definitely would never do anything illegal.”
I wonder how sympathetic she was with J6 protesters saying the same thing?
She needs to have an “accident.”
If only for once they would STOP speaking out.
Insurrection! She should get 20 years!!
Kind? Gentle? Peaceful?
