Hundreds of grown adults lined up for hours just to buy a $2.99 Trader Joe’s tote bag. Maybe I’m getting old, but I genuinely don’t understand this. What am I missing?

Japanese and Europeans love them and probably are going to resell online.
The eco-bag they had a year ago sold out immediately just like this.
I saw a dude with a trader joes bag on the train in Kyoto today...thousands of miles from the nearest trader joes.

I have been in TJ a few times. 90% of what I see is processed foods n junk foods for the youngsters n the tragically hip. Gives this crowd less guilt than buying them/the same stuffs in a normal supermarket.

Their EBT cards are good at Traitor Joes. This place and Costco are the most in places to buy groceries these days. Everybody else are losers.

Are these the same people who vote by mail in our elections because they hate waiting in line on Election Day?

Trader Joes Dijon mustard is excellent.
I go to Trader Joes just for the mustard.
They also have good deals on wine regularly.

Taking a stab at Internet research to discover what you're missing re:
Trader Joe tote bags is not a crime, yet.
Reportedly, Trader Joe's continues to roll in tote bag hype, with limited-edition releases flying off shelves. Most recently, the grocery store chain sold brightly colored, summer-themed insulated mini totes bags that also had customers waiting in long lines outside of stores.
The iconic, traditional Trader Joe's tote bag has developed a cult-like following over the last year. First available in March 2024, the canvas bags are popular on social media for becoming difficult to find.
