A government panel called for a new independent authority to handle tens of thousands of IDF trauma and PTSD cases.
Unlike in past wars, where emotional traumas made up about 15% of claims filed, since 2023, nearly 50% of the war claims filed have included emotional trauma such as PTSD. About 25,000 claims have been filed relating to wars since 2023.
One major change the committee recommended is financing a weekly emotional trauma visit instead of once every two to three weeks.
In addition, the ministry would provide an IDF representative whenever a harmed soldier appears before the committee, submitting requests for recognition and benefits. In the past, many soldiers have complained that the committee treats them as litigants by not showing enough sensitivity to their sacrifices and traumatic experiences.

Israel beat up Gaza and southern Lebanon took shots at Iran but beat itself up in the process.
The soldiers harmed physically and psychologically it can be said.
Not enough personnel to do multiple ground wars with tens of thousands of young men (Ultra-Orthodox) avoiding-dodging military service.
Well said. And most on the front lines are between ages 18-21!!!
There is a long term monthly disability check involved?
And, proving a soldier has, or does not have trauma, is a completely subjective process?
Finally, the people counting, and conferring, and publicizing trauma, are mostly on the political Left?
Is trauma a real medical condition - yes.
Do 50,000 former IDF soldiers have trauma - no.

Instead of surgical door-to-door combat with heavy loses, Israel should have carpet-bombed Gaza.
Israel gets no credit for its kinder/gentler war, and the international Left treats Israel as if they did indeed do worse than carpet-bombing.
