Luigi Mangione will assert a psychiatric defense at his state murder trial in the killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, a judge said Wednesday.
Judge Gregory Carro said Mangione's lawyers have informed him they will attempt to show that he was suffering from “extreme emotional disturbance at the time of the occurrence.”

Severe pain without any relief can indeed be psychologically traumatic. I was nearly bankrupt and suicidal due to nerve pain that was extended for years due to incompetent doctors and insurance. It was a miracle I came back but many people do not. People in such a situation can be very desperate and I suspect the reason so many hospitals have metal detectors now.
Imagine being a young man with a whole life to live and your treatment is being denied by an insurance company with record profits and CEO making many millions. While there is no other recourse and government thinks your suffering for profit is fine. You would be LIVID and do whatever it takes to end such a system

I was young and now I am old. I have been mistreated for YEARS by liberal leftist Democrats and fired from jobs repeatedly because they hate conservatives. I have suffered beyond what you can understand and haven't conspired to kill anyone.
A man tried to steal my pickup in 2023 and I shot him in the parking lot during the attempt and hit him in the thighs (2 hits each leg from four shots) with 9mm hollow points. I specifically aimed low while shooting from the hip (tried to hit his kneecaps, but missed) to keep from killing him. I was no-billed and he was charged with attempted robbery. The state already let him out.

Someone in extreme chronic pain would see you as blessed to have been able to work any jobs at all or even raise a weapon long enough to defend yourself. Compared to pain, democrats aint shit since you still have the ability to think clearly, fight back and do anything else you desire.
Many people live in agony unable to do any of these things or even think clearly. They are thrown away by the system literally into the streets when they are unable to work or get help. I cant tell you how many times I was treated like I was faking it and I didnt even ask for a single dollar in welfare.
I feel sorry for the sick people who truly need it to survive and the most surprising thing is that we don’t have many more Luigis acting out in violence...
