How do we explain a privileged, but vicious, man like Robert DeNiro?
American Thinker ^ | 16 Jun, 2026 | Patricia McCarthy

These “stars” live in rarefied neighborhoods and have full-time security when they venture out. And yet because they subscribe to the New York Times, they think they are our benefactors.

he once-revered and talented actor Robert DeNiro lost his humanity years ago now, during President Trump’s first term.

THe transformed himself from a beloved actor, a great actor, into a hateful, whiny, disturbed man who, by now, no one but the most Trump-deranged wants to hear speak, act or blather on and on about how he can’t love this country as long as Trump is our president.

The same is true of Jane Fonda, Julia Roberts, Bette Midler, etc., all the moonbat celebrities who think we care what they think about anything.

They spend their lives entertaining us by acting in fictional roles as fictional people. They are good at their jobs, most of them. But that talent they have, whether God-given or learned does not qualify them to tell us what to think or for whom to vote. They live in bubbles of wealth. They often endure the fawning admiration of crowds of people they do not know but who derive joy by sharing their lives vicariously.

Jane Fonda has a long and storied record of hating America; her activities would have shocked and embarrassed her father who was indeed a great actor. He was a Democrat who enlisted to fight in WWII and served in the Navy for three years. If he were alive today, he would surely be a Republican.

The Democrat party of today loathes the military and considers the people who volunteer to be a part of it to be tools of the right.

Nothing could be further from the truth. These young people who join any branch of the military

He spent a lifetime seeking external validation instead of fixing what was broken inside. A part of him knows that none of the few remaining roles will validate him and that’s intolerable to him. He lashes out at others in a desperate attempt to avoid looking past the movie screen to the mirror behind it.

Absolute Pacifist on a soap box and preaching how to live on your knees.

After all it’s how most of Hollywood got the job.

This is a classic situation where an amazing actor eventually takes on a self image filled with 100% HUBRIS and becomes tyoo political.

Robert has amazing talent but it went to his head over time.

There was a film called, “Will Success spoil Rock Hunter?”, in 1957.

In our case, this should be called, “Will Success Spoil Robert DeNiro”?

The answer is yes, DeNiro let his brain rot and became so vocal that he basically alienated most sensible people.

When you see him in a film all you can say is too bad he could not keep his mouth shut and pontificate about things he has no clue about.

He ruined his reputation and image. From a cool Mafioso to a whining POS. Too bad.

They get paid to be dressed up and say what other people tell them.

That does not make them nice people. It does not make them kind people. It does not make them thoughtful people.

It just makes them people, with all the faults and virtues that the rest of us have.

Some of them are nice, kind and thoughtful.

Some are not.

Most are in the middle somewhere.

You would not have liked the old style actors any better. The studios just kept a stricter rein on what got published about them. You would not have liked the way they did that.

How do you explain it? He is a jerk.

I don’t let people like DeNiro bother me. In fact, our Lord says we’re supposed to pray for those types of people. Look at him, he’s got one foot in the grave and it won’t be long until he’ll have to give an accounting to God for his actions and behavior. He and ALL Democrats like him will have to explain why the have supported killing the unborn for all these years. I would not want to be in their shoes. No sir!!

And the book "The Executioners" by John MacDonald was better yet. But that is usually the case.

In addition to what some others have said ....

Some people don’t age well.

Some older folks grow in grace, humility, and wisdom. Others take a different path. I can ignore octogenarian actors. Octogenarian politicians are a problem.

At some point it dawns on these people that they have a hollow core, and that their lives as actors are meaningless. The growing awareness is painful and drives them to seek relief through identification with some Cause.
Since the world they live in is leftward leaning, and acceptance by peers is about the only thing that has mattered, they naturally feel impelled to adopt the prescribed leftwing narratives.
Being actors, they easily slip into the role of crusader for The Cause, using that identity as a substitute for an authentic sense of self.

I think you have to have a hollowed out soul to be an actor.
