What took them so long?
Reports are surfacing that White House aides are suddenly alarmed over the likelihood that top secret conversations on national security were taped and leaked to the New York Times.
Axios quotes an administration source as saying that, “We’re afraid some of our most sensitive conversations were being recorded, and we have no idea which ones.”
The outlet also writes that, “We hear President Trump is furious about the blow-by-blow accounts.”
The president has every right to be furious, but he shouldn’t stop there.
Situation Room meetings are classified, and the mere possibility that details of conversations, including those about the goals and strategy of the Iran war, were leaked demands a criminal probe.
Yet so far, there’s not been a peep from the Department of Justice, despite that Pam Bondi, then the attorney general, and Kash Patel, the head of the FBI, were on speakerphone for one of the secret meetings, according to New York Times reporters Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan.
Play-by-playback The minimal and belated White House anger appears to be driven by the fact that their book is slated for publication next week.
Titled “Regime Change,” it promises to go “Inside the Imperial Presidency of Donald Trump.”
Published by Simon & Schuster, it is advertised on the same Amazon page as three other anti-Trump screeds.

Does anyone believe this tripe?
First of all "axios quotes an unnamed source", do they have any sources with names?
were on speakerphone for one of the secret meetings,
= = =
Already that meeting is not secret.
That is a good basic plan, but totally inadequate for classified stuff.
If you leak then you go to jail. No compromise. No leniency. Examples need to be made.
We “provide information” here.
What you do with it is your business.
It’s about time that “Obama/Jarrett group” was brought to a skidding halt. No reason they need to still be causing problems at this stage.
Am I the only one who sees this as a problem.
You can have "top secret" telephonic meetings with foreign nationals. Think about it, if the President calls Putin, the conversation is probably "top secret." They have phones (with encryption) that are set up for this very situation. If the conversation is in a classified area ("the vault"), then the phone can be on speaker phone.
In the months before we went into Iraq, I participated in many telephonic meetings that were "top secret."
That’s exactly the point. Right off the bat, you have one whole side of the conversation that can’t even be prosecuted. Which means they could be the source of every piece of information that shows up in the New York Times.
Go back and read through the NYT articles about these Situation Room meetings.
In every case, there's one person in that room who cannot be prosecuted for leaking classified information. That person is the one who shared the information with the New York Times.
I knew we’d see at least one Israel hater trying to skew this story to be, falsely, about Israel.
Oh yeah? Which post is it?
