MCLEAN COUNTY (25News Now) - A man from Normal was found guilty of voluntary manslaughter after drugging a pregnant woman with abortion bills.
In a plea hearing on Thursday, 32-year-old Emerson Evans was sentenced to seven years in prison.
On Aug. 22, 2025, police were called to an apartment in South Bloomington. That is where officers said they found a crying woman surrounded by a large amount of blood and abortion pills.
At the time, she was seven weeks pregnant and planned to have the baby. She claimed to be drugged by Evans.

What state/city? “From Normal” - how about “FAR from normal?”

Well, was it his kid? I mean after all, if the mother can decide to kill the kid, the father should get the same rights. Right?

How can he be convicted of manslaughter when the state sanctions killing babies in the womb by abortion. Seems to me the is unfairly written.

Illinois State University I think used to be called a normal school for teachers. I don’t know why they called it that,
but I think that’s why they call the town Normal. I went to ISU in Normal, IL.
Wanted to murder his baby and did.
Missouri has a town named “Peculiar”.
Women can kill unborn babies, but if a man does it, it’s murder.
Black people can use the N-word a hundred times a minute, but if a white person says it, it’s justification for a murder to take place.
Jeff Metcalf changed that recently.
I never implied it they were right.
But I am sick of women getting free reign to kill babies if they don’t want to be responsible for them, yet if a man doesn’t want to be responsible for them they put him in jail.
If a woman can decide she doesn’t want the responsibility by killing the kid, then the man should be able to terminate his responsibility by simply walking away.
