The NYPD made dozens of arrests overnight after the New York Knicks clinched their first NBA Finals win in 53 years early Sunday.
At least 63 people were arrested, and there were four stabbings and a shooting reported as the celebrations turned violent, according to cops.
The charges include assault on a police officer, criminal possession of a gun, criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, obstruction of governmental administration, cops said.
Amid the mayhem, 10 members of the NYPD were injured, including one officer who was struck by a glass bottle.
Videos circulating the web show shameless destruction of school buses and personal vehicles.
A 17-year-old boy was also shot in the foot.
The teen was taken to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition.
Five school buses that were used to transport World Cup soccer fans to MetLife Stadium were also set on fire or otherwise destroyed by rampaging fans.

I wish this stuff wouldn’t happen. I know, almost trite sounding because so many do feel this way but this behavior shames and ruins the fact that the NY Knicks won and they have not won in 53 years.

The game was incidental......just an excuse.

53 years ago there was no internet and that is in large part why America was more civilized......that and God played a bigger role in more people’s lives back then.
This is just one more example of the deterioration of society in general.......and it ain’t gonna get any better either.
This is hard to relate to. “I’m so happy, I’m going to go out and stab someone” are words I’ve never uttered, and thoughts I’ve never had.

Wait, was the stabbings self defense, that is what I keep on hearing, that when blacks are touched they can stab you in the heart..Its unfortunate that these teens dont look up to someone like Jalen Brunson, he is someone the black community to strive to be like. Grew up with a mother and a father, good people, went to college, made something of himself, got married, became a superstar on the court and off. He didnt deserve anything he got he EARNED IT..if we had more in the black community strive to be like Brunson, or Karl Anthony Towns they would be in better shape

Quite a price to pay because whitey loves watching grown, former slaves bounce a ball like a bunch of little kids.

There was a Philipino celebration in my city yesterday and today with several thousand in attendance.
Because there are two naval installations in my county they have a very large community here.
Not one report of violence.....just food, dancing and music.
Put that many of a certain ethnicity together and see what happens.
You can pretty much set your watch by what they no doubt will do anytime a large group of them are in the same place.
Either stabbings, shootings, a chimp out or a combination of all three.
Yep sportsmanship in play.
