Least Popular Sport In The World Holds Little Tournament

U.S. — The least popular sport in the world is hosting a tiny little tournament for the few people who care.

Virtually unknown outside of a few areas in the developing world, the sport goes by various names, including "footy" and "adult kick-ball." Enthusiasts said the dozen or so people who play the sport put together an adorable, quaint event to try to gain a bit of relevance.

"Aw, that's cute," said local man Kevin Lamb, reading about the small gathering. "I think it's nice that cities are opening their Little League fields for them to use for their rinky-dink tournament for... what sport is it again?"

According to witnesses, the obscure game involves adults aimlessly kicking a ball back and forth to each other for 90 minutes, after which everyone shakes hands and then claps in the air. During this time, men will intermittently fall down for no apparent reason, then roll around crying for several minutes. A referee blows the whistle at various intervals, and then players surround the ref with praying hands while the referee chooses his favorite-colored card and holds it up. Sometimes a winner is declared, and sometimes not, the reasons for which are unclear.

At publishing time, the niche game had hoped to someday earn a television spot in between cornhole highlights and competitive axe throwing.

Oh, it’s very popular in countries that haven’t put men on the moon.

In America it’s regarded as the metric system of sports.

America will never fully embrace it.

Back in the ‘50’s we played a game called “kickball” in elementary school...It was just like baseball except the pitcher rolls a soccer ball to the kicker at home plate...
The ball is kicked like hitting a ball and you run the bases...Just like baseball...

As a pre-teen I lived in Italy with my parents for 2 years as my dad was in the military.

We lived off base in local areas the whole time so I only had Italian kids to play with.

All they played was soccer, even back then I didn’t get a sport thst only two people on the field are allowed to use their hands.

That just ain’t right.

Kickball has been around forever my friend.

I played it all through the 60s and 70s in school.

As a matter of fact there is now a pro league I’ve seen on one of the espn channels.

Be careful. It’s popularity is directly tied to the mass invasion we are under. As the non-Americans numbers grow it will become more popular. Unless you live in the red fly-over country and are a man.

I go a bit farther back. The girls played tennis, softball or basketball.

I remember when they first tried to introduce us to this sport in 1970 when I was in 5th grade. They lost us when they told us the rules against using our hands.

Based on that rule alone, I surmised at the time this was part of the global communist/socialist movement. Tie the hands of the USA and they can be defeated. Every other country in the world has laws that prevent their citizens from speaking out or owning weapons to keep them under control, effectively tying their hands. That is why they love this sport, because they don’t know any other way of life.

Actually, “Competive Axe Throwing” could develop some useful skills.
