Rebels: 19 Republicans voted against FISA
X ^ | June 11 | Rep. Massie

Posted on 06/11/2026 9:55:08 PM PDT by RandFan

@RepThomasMassie

19 Republicans withheld our votes in order to preserve Constitutionally guaranteed rights.

By refusing to honor the Fourth Amendment, you’re jeopardizing the continuation of FISA.

Include a WARRANT requirement for US citizens if you want Republicans to pass this bill.

I am happy this is being stopped.

It was illegally used against Trump.

Some background information:

Short Term FISA (702) Extension Fails in House - Strangely Specific Concerns from Democrat Leadership

Please note the 85% non-compliance rate found by Inspector General Michael Horowitz!

And don't forget the amazing hypocritical projection by the Democrats!

Democrats simply cannot be trusted with powers such as FISA. They’ve already proven that in spades.

Trump really hurts his credibility when he runs around clamoring for this abomination to be renewed.

Very mixed feelings about this. Very glad it went down in its current form. Significant reforms are needed and stiffer penalties for violations are needed - along with more effective oversight. But we do need some of these tools - to be used if and when there is *real* (not manufactured) probable cause.

Good.

Warrantless searches on citizen’s is unconstitutional and not a good thing. Let it die.

Yeah the rebels just insist on a specific warrant if targeting US citizens NOT overseas or non-citizens

Perfectly in line with your Fourth and reasonable.

I’m glad you posted that it’s the FOREIGN intelligence act and should never be used against US citizenry without a process.

The Speaker complaining but they could have their FISA voted through if it was what it was always meant to be

i.e only targeting FOREIGN suspects.

Are they prepared to lose it? We’ll see. Irony is they’re making the world less safe not the rebels.
