Left-wing Texas congresswoman Jasmie Crockett has suggested that she would have stabbed Austin Mecalf just like Karmelo Anthony did. Anthony has been sentenced for first-degree murder and will spend the next 35 years in prison for killing 17-year-old Metcalf during a confrontation at a Frisco, Texas track meet.
On the lawmaker's Tuesday episode of "Clock It with Crockett,” she made claims about the murder weapon that Anthony used to kill Metcalf, as well as suggested that she would have done the same thing as the murderer. She first downplayed the size of the knife that was used to stab Metcalf, which was a 5-inch semi-serrated blade.
“Wait a minute, it was this?” she said, and held up her fingers to demonstrate around an inch of space between her thumb and pointer finger. One of her guests claimed that it was a multi-tool knife.
"Yeah, like with the little scissors and everything and whatever. So it was small,” Crockett said. A five-inch blade is around the length of a standard US passport. Although photos of the knife have not been released, it was described as having a one-handed opening with a five-inch blade and being sharply pointed. The knife left a 2-inch stab wound in Metcalf's chest, puncturing his heart, which led to him bleeding to death.
Crockett then suggested Metcalf was similar to a 300-lbs man, and that if a man like that was "beating" her, she would not limit herself to "fists" to fight back. “If a 300-pound man is beating me, like on top of me and beating me down, I’m not limited to fists,” Crockett said.
Metcalf, in reality, was roughly 200 lbs at 6 feet tall and had only shoved Anthony when the murderer had provoked him in his team's tent at the track meet. Anthony was listed as 5 feet 11 inches and weighed in at 162 pounds.
Contrary to Crockett's false claims, witnesses said that Metcalf had only shoved Anthony and was never "on top of" him or "beating" the murderer. Despite the conviction earlier this week, people have come to the defense of Anthony, who has now been sentenced to 35 years in prison.

When an elected official states they intend to kill someone, they can face serious federal and state felony charges. Such statements are generally not protected by the First Amendment and are classified as “true threats”.
Obstruction of Justice (18 U.S.C. § 1503/1505): Using threats or force to obstruct, influence, or impede the due administration of justice or congressional investigations.
Conspiracy Against Rights (18 U.S.C. § 241): Violating, or conspiring to violate, an individual’s constitutional rights through threats, including the right to vote.
State Crimes
Terroristic Threats: Defined in many states as a threat to commit a crime of violence with the purpose of terrorizing another or causing public fear.
Criminal Threats / Incitement: Stalking or threatening to injure or kill another person.
“True Threat” Doctrine: The speech is criminalized if the speaker means to communicate a serious expression of an intent to commit an act of unlawful violence to a particular individual or group.
The speaker does not necessarily need to have the actual intent to carry out the violence to be convicted; they must only intend to put the victim in fear.
Such threats can lead to significant prison sentences, often with maximums of up to 10 years for serious threats, depending on the statute and severity of the threat.
For immediate danger, such incidents are reported to the FBI or local law enforcement.
This is the thought process that will be running Congress next year if we don’t show up in November 2026.

A lot of people on this forum thought Karmello Anthony would get away with this or would get a slap ont he wrist. But some of us knew what it meant that he tried this in a small town in Texas. Anthony sealed his own fate.

A 5 inch blade is legal to carry in Texas, but it was a violation of school policy, meaning he was not supposed to be there with a knife. This underminds his claim of a right to be there (i.e. under the tent of the opposing team).
Texas law (Texas Penal Code § 46.01 and § 46.02) does not restrict the carry of knives with blades 5.5 inches or shorter. Under Texas Penal Code § 46.03, carrying any knife with a blade over 5.5 inches onto school premises is a felony. However, school district policies in Texas typically ban all knives on campus regardless of length. Bringing a 5-inch knife to school can lead to immediate arrest, suspension, or expulsion, even though it is legal to carry in other public areas.
Anthony seems to have picked a knife that he thought would not get him in trouble, and researched what he thought he could legally do with his knife, but he failed to recognize his own ignorance. He probably thought that the law allowed him to knife someone for pretty much anything and claim self-defense. And that isn’t correct. He’s learning the hard way.
But the bottom line is he appeared to have used his knife not just to commit murder but premeditiated murder. And now he will pay the price.
