REPORT: Karmelo Anthony Placed in Isolation for His Own Safety
Breitbart ^ | June 10, 2026 | Dylan Gwinn

Karmelo Anthony was sentenced to 35 years in prison for murdering 17-year-old Austin Metcalf. However, his time in prison will begin in isolation.

According to a report from TMZ Sports, a representative for the Collin County Jail confirms that, for now, Anthony will be held in a remote part of the jail away from the general population, out of concern for his safety.

“We’re told the jail is taking appropriate steps to ensure the safety and security of all inmates in the facility … but the rep declined to comment on why Anthony specifically is being kept in isolation,” TMZ Sports reports.

Anthony was found guilty of murder for the April 2, 2025, killing of 17-year-old Austin Metcalf.

I’m sure the County wants to make sure he’s not assaulted or killed during the short time he’ll be in their jail until he’s transferred to a state prison. The county doesn’t want to give his family the opportunity to sue them for not properly protecting their baby.

If he had to get a skin head hair cut, why has Luigi been excused? Last I saw, Mangione still had his classic taper with a fade.

The Brotherhood has a hit on him. Any one who has served time and has AN contacts knows this.

It is just that simple.

A former president intentionally stoked race wars and this is the result. It is getting louder, more violent and there will be hundreds/thousands of more deaths in the coming decades, thanks to him.

Agreed. They surely made the decision to isolate him very early. He’ll be in genpop soon enough because he isn’t strong enough mentally for isolation. Then the fun begins.

The money raised through crowd funding.....is going to be extorted for protection.

Putting the defendant into a suit too large is an old criminal defense lawyer trick that aims to evoke sympathy by making the defendant seem small and vulnerable.

"Why?"

Prison grapevine. He's still in the county jail. He's been sentenced already, and can only remain in a jail for a specific period of time before having to be transferred to a State prison. His reputation will go with him. Criminals and inmates have long memories. I spent 25 years in uniform in NY State's prisons, and saw street grudges from years before, played out behind bars.

Different States and different prison systems have different rules.

He'll definitely be extorted behind bars at some point in time. Even if he joins a gang, the gang will get their payment for that protection one way or the other. They'll take the shit from the packages his parents bring on visits or send to him, and they'll tell him what to buy in the commissary with the money that his parents send to his account at the prison. And then there's sex of course.

I bet Karmelo Anthony is in isolation because of severe drug withdrawals.

I have wondered the same. What compelled him to follow on the heels of the Metcalf bros as they walked into the tent?

I heard from the time they entered this tent, 5 minutes later, Austin Metcalf was dead.

I do not believe for a second that Karmelo went into that tent because it was raining. Young men are not afraid of raindrops and if that were the case he just would have left without incident.

He was there for a reason, to incite and do something, and he did what he must have went in there to do.

If he was smart like his family claims, he knew full well not to bring a weapon to the track meet. He also knew those tents were for the individual teams only. Not for just anyone who wants to go in and hang around.

It seems he had an agenda, or a reason, and when I saw that post that a gang may be after him, it rang a bell as to what that agenda possibly could be.

It is also a reason not to mention that as part of the defense because it would make Karmelo even more unsympathetic.

“The county doesn’t want to give his family the opportunity to sue them for not properly protecting their baby.”

That family is DISGUSTING.

Means showed a video taken outside of the courthouse yesterday.

Karmelo’s family was camped out under a TENT, being all obnoxious and boisterous.

A reporter walked up and started asking questions. They screamed at him and TOLD HIM TO LEAVE.

The reporter WALKED AWAY.

I guess they didn’t see the irony.

He is going to miss he cell phone. He will miss the easy entertainment it provided. He loses all contact with the world....no mindless games to wile away the time. No movies or video clips to watch anytime. No movie to lull you to sleep at night. The boredom is going to drive him crazy

As the judge said as Caramelo was being whisked from the courtroom after his sobbing response to the verdict, “Things are different for him now.”

He was kept in isolation early on. But unless there is an identifiable threat or the prisoner is a management issue you can’t keep them there. Blame the do-gooders at the ACLU.
