It was an ACCIDENT. THE NSA files were released years ago and confirmed it. Most of what people claim happened then did not.
Fratricide is always horrible - but it has happened to the USA. We’ve killed British soldiers in combat long after 1967. Israel has had blue on blue deaths in recent combat. Heck, we had three American F-15Es shot down by KUWAIT last March! In Dec 2023, Israel’s IDF admitted to killing three Israelis who were being held as hostages! BTW, I was a WSO in F4s and F111s that did mock attacks on ships so I have some familiarity on what it is like for the attacking aircraft. I also spent a few months flying on the crew of AWACs monitoring our ops out of Turkey.

The accusation is that it is thought Israel thought this ship intercepted some communications that Israel wanted to keep confidential and it sunk the USS liberty and tried to attack the survivors so there would be no survivors in hopes that whatever Israel was hiding could be kept confidential.
It is thought to be deliberate because Israel didn’t stop attacking the USS liberty and crew after hitting the ship.

Massie's outrage has always been selective, and always in support of whatever his particular agenda happens to be. He's one of the most insufferably sanctimonious people in Congress. I have a lot of admiration for Rand Paul, but nothing but contempt for Massie.
