I was incredulous when I first saw this. I actually lived in Oregon as a child and while it’s been many years I remember the hunting culture was much stronger than even in KentuckIana where we have lived since. We lived on the Western semi-desert side, not far from Crater Lake.

Oh here is the man behind the movement to ban hunting/fishing in Oregon; David Michaelson.

The proposed law bans exterminators killing rats, so it will fail.

They’ll come back with a hunting and fishing ban later, and that will probably succeed.

At which point, poaching game will skyrocket. I know hunters and fishermen. If they don’t have a legal regulated sport, they go off reservation and kill everything everywhere. And be protected by all their local buddies.

Portland may get more than it bargained for.

AS I UNDERSTAND-—IT ISN’T JUST HUNTING& FISHING.

IT WOULD WIPE OUT ALL ANIMAL OWNERSHIP...NO MORE CATTLE RANCHES/ HORSE FARMS/CHICKENS/PIGS, ETC.

THE ENTIRE COMMERCIAL FISHING ON THE OREGON COAST WOULD BE WIPED OUT. 3/4 OF THE EASTERN SIDE OF THE STATE ARE CATTLE RANCHES.

NO INCOME? HOW WOULD THEY PAY THEIR TAXES????

Hunting and fishing is conservation. Animal rights activists are profoundly anti environmentalism. If hunting was banned Oregon would be overrunned with starving animals.

That’s the point the government will own everything, the citizens will own nothing but they will be happy, or shot.

True, but that does not matter. What does matter is that the environmental activists would feel good about themselves.

Why can’t people just mind their own business. Danm Nancys. You never see them trying to ban their beta male activities.

This means Bears cannot get fish, wolves and coyotes can’t hunt rabbits, squirrels etc...Snakes cannot catch rats and mice...Eagles and hawks cannot go after rabbits, fish, or squirrels...

ALL hunting and fishing will be ILLEGAL!!!!!

Properly regulated hunting is necessary for the health of the ecosystem especially since most apex predators are gone. Idiots tried something like this on some state parks in Ohio. Ended up with a sick malnourished overpopulated deer population.

People proposing this are morons.

What they ultimately want is to ban all sale of meat.

Except on Native American reservations.

They will then charge the White Devils for access to hunting on their Federally Protected properties.

I kill rats. 24/7. We have what is referred to here as tree rats. They are heavy in old growth areas like ours, especially next to a golf course. I have bait stations on the top rails of my fence that I refill all the time. No need for an exterminator. lol
