Paintings are our best visual reference of what the American Revolution was like, for those who lived through it.
They offer a glimpse into what people wore, how battles were fought, and what it felt like to live during the Revolutionary War.
However, it’s important to remember that paintings of the American Revolution were not intended as realistic depictions of the events portrayed.
Most paintings were much more idealistic in nature – even those painted by artists who witnessed the events first-hand...

Yes… It was marble head. I was trying to noodle that out in my head.
Marblehead is my home town.
I believe the existing copy was a second painting by the same artist. The original one was in Germany and was destroyed in World War II by British bombing. Not that they were deliberately trying to destroy the painting.

I’ve got copies of the Declaration Of Independence, as well as the Bill Of Rights, and the US Constitution, so I will have to now get copies of these.

Yes…funny the way I was trying to recall…almost got it!
I had that one on my about page but the link went dead. I need to add it back. Had a paternal Grandfather at Morristown, Valley Forge and the Delaware Crossing along with many other actions. He was in for the entire war.
