WAYNE TOWNSHIP, Pa. —
Authorities are searching for the biological father of an infant who died in Mifflin County, as the child’s mother faces homicide charges. The county coroner wants to find the father's identity to make final arrangements for the deceased infant.
According to charging documents, 20-year-old Jordyn Lynn Kauffman left the infant, a baby girl with brown hair and blue eyes, in her Wayne Township yard shortly after giving birth.
In the affidavit, Pennsylvania State Police said Kauffman told hospital staff she did not want a child while she was pregnant, and declined post-birth services offered to her to help raise the child.
Kauffman also told police her father "would disown her and kick her out" if he learned of her pregnancy. The Mifflin County Coroner says none of the 20-year-old's family knew of the incoming baby.

Horrible, stupid excuse for a woman.
Hope she’s charged with mrder.
Pennsylvania ping
So sad, the totally unnecessary death of the child!
Regards,
Not sure why its so important for the father to be found...for funeral arrangements. Especially if DNA test results take 4-6 weeks.
The girl, however, deserves maximum sentences. We need to make dumb as a bag of hammers a felony...
If she was able to hide the pregnancy from the people living with her, it’s unlikely the father knew she was pregnant.

Pennsylvania Ping!
Please ping me with articles of interest.
FReepmail me to be added to the list.
So the county doesn’t have to pay the bill.
The article said something to the effect that if the father was not found, the grandparents would do it.
So...
Unless he did and that’s the bee in the coroner’s bonnet.
“A Lewistown Geisinger Hospital worker told police that he had spoken to Kauffman on the phone when she was around 39 weeks pregnant about the Safe Haven law [which allows parents to legally and anonymously surrender unharmed newborn infants up to 28 days old to designated professionals] and other resources, but she declined any help.”
Really sad...
Part of the plea deal should include sterilization.
DNA results take 4-6 weeks? Not on t.v. its usually the next afternoon!!!!
I have personally known of two different cases where women went to the hospital ill and gave birth, not knowing they were pregnant. Yes, they were both heavy.
The one I knew the father/husband very well. His brother called him at work to tell him that he was a father and he didn’t believe his brother. Then his father called him and told him to head to the hospital as he was a father.
I saw the deer in the headlights look on his face as he shared the story with me. The guy is intelligent and no slouch. Apparently his wife had perpetual problems of missing periods so she didn’t notice.
Another very close female friend of mine has two sets of female organs. “Uterus didelphys” is a condition where a female is born with two sets of reproductive organs, including two uteruses, two cervixes, and sometimes two vaginas, due to the failure of the Müllerian ducts to fuse properly during fetal development. This rare condition affects about 0.3% of the population.
She has two wonderful children, but had many miscarriages and complications during pregnancy. The Dr’s warned her that she could get pregnant while she was pregnant and not know it. Her periods continued through pregnancy in her second uterus.
How the media must strain to avoid saying "white."
LOL
She didn’t want the child but she didn’t want anyone else to have it.
