A Virginia high school graduation descended into chaos when a spectator rushed the stage and attacked a student who was walking to receive his diploma.

Evan J. Williams Jr., 20, was arrested Thursday and charged with disorderly conduct and damage to private property in connection with the brawl that broke out during John Marshall High School’s graduation ceremony at Virginia Commonwealth University, according to police.

A 12-second viral video of the violence posted on Facebook shows the moment several attendees began to fight on the students’ special day in front of shocked family members just before 11 a.m. Wednesday at the school’s Siegel Center.

At least four university police officers are seen rushing toward the front of the stage to break up the melee, as other audience members jump in to join the fracas or scramble to help stop it.

Several more altercations broke out outside the Siegel Center as police worked to break up the initial fight and clear the venue.

I’m a retired city public school teacher (high school). Some kind of brawl or loud altercation would occur at around half of our graduation ceremonies.

Good times.
Not.

Side note: Even in my worst classes, most of the kids were good. They are the ones who suffer the most here.

The American Dream today is the ability to raise a family as far away from the consequences of the civil rights movement as possible.

If blacks don’t understand why White folks prefer to avoid them this is why.

It’s becoming clear to me that it’s now a primary goal of black people to ruin any event anytime a large group of them are there.

It used to be they would request people withhold applause to keep the process on time. It was ALWAYS violated by some of them. ALWAYS.

It’s the 13%, not the bottom quintile, that causes most of the social and criminal problems.
