The problem is the regime as it has been for 47 years. They get stronger every minute they survived since the first bomb fell. They don’t need any military to win. It’s all bravado now. If the regime still exists it doesn’t matter what agreement takes place. The whole world will respect Iran as the one entity that stood up to Trump and survived. Trump lost the moment he initiate a cease fire. A victor doesn’t unilaterally issue a cease fire when the enemy is about to fall. Truth be told we were probably out of bullets, so we closed the Gulf and are resetting. Not a critique of Trump in anyway, but there doesn’t seem to be a way out. The regime needs to go. I don’t know how to do that short of an invasion which is not an option. The time was in January when the uprising happened and the regime was working on exiling to Russia, but after the world stood by and watched 40,000 people get slaughtered you have to imagine that put a little damper on the masses enthusiasm to try again. Iran has been systematically rounding up and executing the resistance ever since. I don’t have a solution to the regime issue at this point. Ripping on Trump or supporting him is pointless. The Arab neighbors have stood there helplessly while Iran pounded them assuming that was the price to pay to have the US do its dirty work and get rid of their mutual enemy, now the Gulf awaits America’s soon withdraw and they are stuck staring at the bully who punched them and their savior has tuck tailed and gone home. Completely inconceivable just 6 months ago when Trump had just came off a world wind trip through out the ME in 2025 with trade deals and Abraham accords. This is just a bigger failure than Gaza with other than Israel getting its hostages back nothing has changed. Hamas is still in charge getting stronger everyday.
My solution fwiw is to engage the Syrian and or Kurds to go into Iran with US support. Trump tells the little tin pot terrorist dick head of Syria that he can keep his little regime and will keep Israel off his case if he fights Iran who was his the biggest backer of Assad and his mortal enemy. This is Syria’s chance for retribution. Same as Lebanon, Hezbo fought in Syria to defend Assad, now it’s payback time. Let the muzscums kill each other while we grab some popcorn. Just my 2 cents worth.

If that could be done, it should’ve already been done.

Hint: it can’t be done

I am not a fan of the Revolutionary Islamic regime being allowed to stand.

Me either.

As long as Iran retains the ability to militarily control traffic thru the Strait, we haven’t really won anything.

True.

What? Are you one of these *Christians don’t get involved in politics* people?

Because Christians not getting involved in politics has landed us in the mess we’re in.

Besides, you don’t have a clue what he does as far as hospital visitations.

Two months ago President Trump was talking like this package was all wrapped up,
everything but the bow. Lot's of talk about how we had destroyed Iran.

Evidently not. A defeated country doesn't dictate the terms of surrender.

Sometimes President Trump would do better to keep his mouth shut.

A political pep rally disguised as a religious service. Stay in your lane, Jack.

A nine minute segment and you're condemning him? What was the rest of his message about that you're doing that? How was the rest of his message not in his lane?

IMO, having a pastor who has the courage to speak up on political issues is a breath of fresh air.

May I ask you a question? If Iran is made flush with billions of dollars will they improve the lot of their citizens or immediately begin remaking ballistic missiles for breakfast, lunch and dinner? The time will never be more conducive for eradicating that regime of the devil, imo.

How does anyone here have a plan?

It’s just opinions

Id grant most favor not leaving a theocracy in place

My opinion is degrade them more

What is your plan Jim?

Just observing the actions of the administration is that the ramifications of the strait of Hormuz free passage and its effect on the world has caused reactions perhaps planned for
Perhaps not

In any event yes id like to see the Iranian regime ended and let them sort it out

But I fear they are too entrenched amongst a disarmed populace

Who knows

I think when President Trump says things like that, it’s distraction for the leftists and enemies.

They tie themselves all in knots over something he said about Greenland and he turns around and does something nobody expected when they weren’t looking.

After more than a year, I’ve learned to take a wait and see attitude. No point in condemning him when he’s still acting.

And they were defeated. A country the size of Iran cannot be ‘bombed’ out of existence. They have thought of those possibilities by building underground facilities. The thing that defeated the Nazis, as painful as it was, was when they lost the will to fight. Nazis were fanatics, but not nearly as much as the IRGC, so I suspect the plan has been to organize the rebellion from inside. Having seen the tribulations and futility of Vietnam, and having lost a few fellow soldiers and sailors, I pray that they can do this without a ground invasion of American Troops. We lacked the will to finish the job in Vietnam.

I hope you're wrong -- as I am confident you hope so, too -- but I must admit I think this extended "negotiation" is making Trump appear less as a leader and more like a politician; perhaps the result of some of his confidants suggesting these attempts to negotiate with a deadly enemy makes Trump appear more like a "statesman". I disagree.

I hope -- no, I remain confident -- that Trump is well-aware of how he appears to other leaders and will not let this continue much longer. "Unconditional surrender" is not "negotiation".

“They don’t need any military to win.”

Stopped reading right there.

I was just now listening to Steve Bannon, so I don’t know who his guests are. It makes me wonder if, according to their comments, the Iranian leaders will come up out of their underground bunkers and actually allow Trump to surrender unconditionally.

The Japanese are now slapping their foreheads with regret: If we only knew the “real” realities of war, that when we had MacArthur cornered on the Missour, we could have forced him to surrender unconditionally.
