Aviation Ping!.................
I do not, on the surface, denigrate any CCP weapons systems (or any other given weapons systems). Neither do I assign to them degrees of superiority or invincibility. And everything that comes from the mouth of the CCP can be considered a lie until it is proven. Propaganda is very important to them.
There are so many factors that go into how effective any given weapons systems will work. Support, training, and doctrine are just three of them.
I spoke to an accomplished fighter pilot while providing some computer support to him inside his home. His walls were jammed with plaques from various military commands, training squadrons, and front line fighter squadrons.
He started off as a USMC pilot flying the A-4 Skyhawk, transitioned to the USAF, and ended up in the Air National Guard flying F-16’ where he had just retired when I met him.
He told me that he had flown every fighter in the US inventory except the F-22.
I eagerly asked him if he had ever flown against an F-22, and if so, what was it like.
He answered matter-of-factly: “The F-22 clubbed every fighter it faced as if it were a baby seal.”
So, the Eurofighter is not a 5th Generation fighter. It is most generously, a 4.5 Generation fighter.
From what I have heard, any 5th Generation fighter one that really is 5th Generation, is competently maintained, and has well trained pilots using carefully thought out doctrine and tactics that maximize its strengths and minimizes its weaknesses, will achieve a kill ration like that against 4th Generation fighters.
And again-these are in mock battles. I suggest people take it for what it is worth.
Is it the plane or the pilot?
