Rapid Response 47@RapidResponse47.@POTUS on incoming Fed Chair Kevin Warsh: "I want Kevin to be totally independent. I want him to be independent and just do a great job. Don't look at me; don't look at anybody. Just do your own thing — and do a great job."May 22, 2026
TRANSCRIPT BEGINS~~~
President Trump: The Federal Reserve is the pillar of the world financial system, and the most important central bank anywhere in the world, with a history stretching back 100 years. It is truly the institution that's most looked to, most respected. And it's now taken on a new and even higher respect, in my opinion.
Honestly, I really mean this; this is not said in any other way: I want Kevin to be totally indepedent. I want him to be independent and just do a great job. Don't look at me. Don't look at anybody. Just do your own thing, and do a great job. Okay?

So he says now, LOL. Fed chairmen always get pressure from Presidents for mo’ money in the year before elections.
TRANSLATION: Interest rates will be rising, and it has to be Warsh’s fault.
LOL. I love Trump, but the first time interest rates go up when Trump thinks they should go down, Trump will take to Truth Social to bash him mercilessly.
When bond yields rise, it means investors are demanding a higher return on loans made to governments or corporations, typically signaling that bond prices are falling. This shift ripples through the broader economy, usually leading to higher borrowing costs for consumers and businesses, and pressuring stock prices.
Rip markets. Warsh will be taking away lots of liquidity. Good for him.
Warsh is reportedly an inflation hawk - I don’t know if he’s going to give Trump or us the rate cuts we’re hoping for.
