Secretary of War Pete Hegseth led the swearing-in ceremony at the Pentagon
Fox News host Johnny "Joey" Jones reenlisted in the United States Marine Corps on Wednesday during a swearing-in ceremony at the Pentagon.
"The last job I had in uniform โ my job was to get better. It was to heal. It's a very selfish thing. My job was to heal. The Marine Corps paid me to get better, and then I retired. And there's nothing wrong with that, but it was unfinished business," Jones said at the ceremony.
Jones, a formerly-retired staff sergeant, served eight years in the Marine Corps and was deployed twice, suffering a life-changing injury while deployed in Afghanistan as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal technician. The 2010 IED-related incident resulted in the loss of both of his legs and severe damage to his right forearm and both wrists.

Secretary Pete Hegseth Reenlists USMC Staff Sgt. Joey Jones at the Pentagon
Semper Fi from an old Army guy!
Thank you young man.
Johnny is AWESOME God Bless him!
Joey has no work left undone.
I watched it. It was very moving.
I had no idea he had his legs blown off. You’d never know.
No kidding.
He gave half his body to the Corps.
The Marines paid him to get well? They owed him what they paid him. And more.
My screen got a little blurry for a sec... Good man there. Semper Fi bro
For those who were wondering:
“Jones will remain a co-host of “The Big Weekend Show” and continue to provide military analysis across all FOX News Media platforms.”
per the article.
I’m happy for Joey. That was a very moving ceremony. I’m glad he’s staying on the air. I enjoy his take on various issues, but I’m wondering about his ability to comment on Trump now that he’s back in uniform.
Agreed. I wonder what the purpose was in re-joining the Marine Corps.
Hopefully, this improves perceptions of the status and utility of military service among a large part of the population, helping increase participation and lower recruitment costs, and also reduces any cognitive dissonance around the use of military force in the Middle East that people of some conscience but little understanding may be starting to experience.
Uh, he's a patriot and loves his country?
How difficult is it for you to figure that out?
What an amazing man! I listened when he spoke after being sworn in again by the Secretary of War and what a strong and humble Marine. He will certainly inspire many and his praise and love to his wife and family when he was down is exemplary. God bless this Great American and his loving family.Nice to see the spotlight on such decent uplifting events.
Uh, he’s a patriot and loves his country?
How difficult is it for you to figure that out?
So I assume there is a plan there. I wonder what it is.
How does he pass the physical?
I heard that he’ll be assigned to an office in the Pentagon, so a physical probably wasn’t necessary.
Finally I get to see my tax dollars fund something worthwhile.
He’s an impressive guy. A manly man.
Marine Corps Reserves, not active duty.
