Natalie Decker parked her truck during Friday's race at Dover after just 81 laps after NASCAR black-flagged her for being too slow.
That, of course, isn't the whole story. Not even close.
Decker essentially rage-quit during the race, suffering one of the most stunning in-car meltdowns I have ever heard. And folks, I've heard A LOT over the radio in all my years covering NASCAR. Frankly, until yesterday, I thought I'd heard it all.
You guys, I'm trying to hold my s--- together, but I don't want to keep doing this," a crying Decker begins after being told to come down pit road for a pass-through penalty.
"There’s just so many s----- things that I could say right now, and I’m just trying to keep it together, about the f---ing director of the series."
"Let's remember what's on our truck, and just bring it to the garage, right?" said team owner Josh Reaume, referring, clearly, to the sponsors.
"I feel like a f---ing failure if I do that," she responded. "There’s so many things I want to say and I’m probably going to get f---ing suspended, you have no idea."
"I’m sorry Josh, I’m not going to come back to the Truck Series," she continued. "I’m staying in the O’Reilly Series, this series f---ing sucks. The amount of hate I’m going to get online for this is just going to be insane. I’m not ready."

Well that part is obvious.
Apparently she had absolutely NO business being behind the wheel at that level.
Nascar deserves this for being woke and embracing DEI.
That idiot bubba wallace all but gets in a fight last week and now this.....nascar is lucky she didn't kill someone....OR herself.
Glad I was done with with it by the mid 90s.

Crap. I was hoping it was Kyle Busch.
Drivers like Dale Sr., Cale Yarbourgh, Bobby Allison and many others are rolling over in their graves about what NASCAR has become.
Nascar died with EarnHardt
Can she parallel park?
Pick up the pace.
Yep, when they let toyota in and the cars and drivers all started looking alike that was the and for me.
That and the implementation of “stages”.
Spent a lot of time at Daytona speedway but when it got to the point of spending $90+ for a place to stand for several hours that was it.
Was it a girl’s race?
Pretty obvious she couldn’t handle the pressure physically or especially mentally.
180 mph is no place to lose your shit.
“Yep, when they let toyota in and the cars and drivers all started looking alike that was the and for me.”
Agree all.
I used to be a huge NASCAR fan. Left it after Bill France Jr. died and the new clowns tried to turn NASCAR into another Disneyland for kids. It’s a joke now. They got rid of the rednecks and rebel flags and invited the minorities in. It’s now more racist than ever.
Even back then I preferred to watch the evening recap of a NASCAR race. All the crashes and someone taking the checkered flag, usually in less than a minute. Saved lots of time that way.
For a while a local bar would have a NASCAR potluck on Sunday. I'd go to that sometimes, but not primarily to watch the race.
That doesn't make any sense.
“Apparently she had absolutely NO business being behind the wheel at that level.”
I somehow can’t picture her driving modifieds on dirt tracks getting rocks in the face from years ago like Richard Petty, or Glenn “Fireball” Roberts. They were tough.

NASCAR has gone from ( long ago ), an "America Sport", to a Completely "Controlled American Folly"
They've gone from "WINSTON CUP" to being a barking, pissing Pup. I've NOT followed NASCAR since back when it became SOLELY a "MONEY ENDEAVOR."
FACT.
Crying? There’s no crying in NASCAR!
Total honesty, given the way women drive where I live, I wouldn’t have guessed she got flagged for going too slow.
They should install throttle governors on the cars of all the menfolk so that she can have equity or reparations or something.
