Rubio has consistently impressed me. He comes across as highly intelligent, genuine, and knowledgeable. There is something about Vance that is off-putting to me.

I saw him give his stump speech at the Georgia state convention in 2015. He did not tailor it for his audience at all, and came across as wooden and uninspired. He has upped his game since then. Oddly, Christie gave the best presentation, with Cruz (whom I supported the time) being a little bit too smug and also sticking to standard talking points. Trump had no presence at that point, and John Ellis Bush had paid minions who were there, but had no buzz. I think we saw an unimpressive video of Fiorina, but that might just be Mandela effect.

Rubio has been impressive, but I still think that Ron DeSantis is the most natural heir to Donald Trump.
DeSantis has got the same take-no-prisoners approach, yet has a keen knack for getting a job done.

While I have often criticized Secretary Rubio for not being an Art. 2, ยง1, Cl. 5 natural-born Citizen when it came to his presidential aspirations, as his parents were not naturalized U.S. citizens at the time of his birth in Miami, Florida. And while I have often criticized the decision in Wong Kim Art, I have learned that both of Marco’s parents were, in fact, green-card permanent residents at the time of his birth.
