How many jabs?
I killed a friend during high school football, it happens.
,,, the headline says “rugby” but he was a rugby league player - the games are different, but both are risky.
There is a reason US football platers wear helmets when butting heads.
First thought was the Bledsoe aortic tear, but in context it looks like a head injury.

Seven, and one head injury.

The above is the official statement.
Nowhere does it state that Hanna died as a the result if a head injury.
If death certificates are public record in NZ, I’d want to have a look at this one.
could also be cracked neck ...
I remember seeing an Arena Football player snap his neck on a play, died right there on the field.
How many jabs?
I am sorry you had to experience that. That can’t be easy.
Not surprised he died. I have watched Rugby, have no clue what the mayhem is about. everyone slaming into everyone, apparently no rules.
Sorry this guy died. Now I won’t be LMAO while watching. Big sigh.
They imply it pretty strongly:
“ARL places the utmost importance on player safety and welfare and work hard to prevent such tragic outcomes. We have rigorous head injury and concussion protocols in place and work with our rugby league community to ensure appropriate resources and education are provided year-round.
We urge anyone who sustains a head injury or experiences any symptoms to follow the guidelines in place, seek the appropriate medical advice and treatment, and only return to play when advised and appropriate. “
I don’t think I’d be putting that in my official statement if it was the result of a chest injury.
It was Texas sports so it didn’t bother me much other than the loss of a friend.
He spent 10 days in the hospital attempting to recover before he died.
That sure makes me curious. He sustained a terminal injury. Head-scratcher.
Internal decap?
I have watched Rugby, have no clue what the mayhem is about. everyone slaming into everyone, apparently no rules.
A lot of mayhem may well go undetected in what is called a scrum. From what I’ve heard, dark things occur in a scrum.
That said, rugby (Union or League) is basically tackle football played in soccer uniforms and injuries can and do occur.
