Academy Award-winning director Adam McKay unleashed a rant against voters blindly standing behind the Democratic Party.
The lefty filmmaker — who directed such comedic classics as “Anchorman,” “Talladega Nights” and “Step Brothers” — slammed “white liberals” during a recent interview on the “Urgent Futures” podcast.
“It is incredible to watch people this far down the road still say you gotta stand behind the Democrat Party. The same party that wouldn’t convict Trump of a crime after he told a crowd, ‘Go to the Capitol,’” McKay said. “The same party where the previous presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton, literally funded Trump’s campaign.” “We are being hit with the high-grade marketing, and no group is worse than white liberals. I mean, they are the worst,” he said. “I’ve tried to talk to them about climate, they are so smug and captured. And it boils down to privilege. I mean, when you talk to white moneyed liberals, they’re getting a lot from this broken system.”

I don't think people know what the word liberal means, but okay.
I have very recently a trend in which Hardcore Leftists attack the Liberals who are ruining everything.
As I understand it, the Hardcore Leftists feel that they are correct in their own ideology — Class Warfare, Political Struggles, Government ownership of the Means of Production, abolition of Private Property. To them, these are all good ideas.
The Liberals, however, are messing things up with stupid stuff — Trans ideology, Climate Change, opposition to fossil fuels, DEI, etc. These ideas help smug people feel good about themselves, but they do not advance The Revolution.
Spencer Pratt was very smart to run as an independent as the GOP is kryptonite throughout LA. Got em’ runnin’ scared. As he goes for broke let’s wish him well. 42 years old. Knows how to talk. As mayor he will cooperate with the INS. I’d love to see him make job offers to fed up cops in NY.
Are retirement programs amongst the cops transferrable? Just askin’.

History repeats. The Bolsheviks, the ideological hard core Marxist -Leninists, gladly accepted the help and support of the “liberal” Russian elites to make their revolution and seize power. However they hated and resented the even as they took their money. Once they had power these elites were stripped of their assets, forced to emigrate, imprisoned or simply killed. This Director apparently would like a second career as a commissar/enforcer.
Yeah, he’s out there. But he’s not wrong about “white moneyed liberals”.
It's weird that they avoid mentioning his political pictures "Vice," "The Big Short," and "Don't Look Up," but maybe they all bombed. In any case, I wouldn't trust anything he says or does.
Inter-twined, yes. I think it’s a question of strategy.
I think the US Communists thought that they could “win” with campaigns of Transexuals and Climate Change. I think the US Communists have realized that these are, in fact, not winning strategies and they may be backing away from those ideas. Because they really want to “win” and if an idea is not a winner, then they will drop it.
Meanwhile, the Liberals want to feel good about themselves. The Trans stuff and the Climate stuff still pushes their buttons. They know that they are morally superior to you because they have a Trans kid. That’s sufficient. They feel good, so they aren’t going to change.
The Liberals and the Communists have a lot in common, and would vote for the same candidates, but they are not identical. I think the Communists see a chance at “winning” slipping away from them and they may be a little upset with the Liberals.
It’s the 80/20 political problem. You cannot stage a revolution if 80% of the population think you have nutty ideas. Liberals don’t see this, but the Communists do.

Where are the words "peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard" in this quote? Could it be that McKay is distorting history like Winston Smith?
I call that Dowdizing a quote after Maureen Dowd dropped a few words from a Bush quote and then abused him for her mutant version.
Also, can he really blame the Dems? All 48 in the Senate plus 2 "Independents" and 7 Republicans voted to convict. They did everything they could short of a reenactment of Julius Caesar.
Yeah, you’re probably right, the elite left see they aren’t benefitting so much anymore from their current crop of destabilizing deceptions, so they’ll be moving on to sowing some other pack of lies that throws people off. It’s not yielding control of the pulse of society to them like it had been. They’re not all Communists, but they all want the world to be subservient to their egos.
Communists want control. Fascists want control. Socialists want control. Islamists want control.
If (empty) promises of equity gives them control, that’s their MO.
If (rabid) threats of violence gives them control, that’s their MO.
If (insincerely) framing the future as a primrose path gives them control, that’s their MO.
If (deceptively) claiming Allah will give you peace gives them control, that’s their MO.
Different names for the same scam: “I do this, you give me control”. Whatever works in a given decade, a given era, a given century, or over millennia is what the control freaks will gravitate to.
Well that makes a lot of sense. That’s what this crazed director is doing with his diatribe.

I have seen all or most of all three of them. You are corrupted in your assumption. They are so low-brow, you will lose your vision trying to watch them.
I tried several times to watch Step Brothers. It was so horrid I just couldn’t finish. But it’s not even the worst of the three movies attributed to this director.
There are times where a pair of immature and stupid young men are funny, but it’s been wayyyy overdone (bill&ted, wayne&garth, beavis&butthead, etc) and only works when the stupid characters have a likability or stupid charm. Step Brothers has none! The in-fighting is obnoxious.
Talladega Nights has some quotable stupidity, but it’s honestly not that funny either. “Shake n Bake!”. “If you’re not first, you’re last”.
But the dumb redneck trope goes way overboard, and not funny...Just irritating. Same pair of actors as Step Brothers, and also dumb in-fighting, but not quite as bad as Step Brothers.
Anchorman actually wasn’t too terrible, and had some comedy and a little originality.
Will Farrell is capable of being funny. I haven’t seen him in anything I liked since Oldschool, however. A lot of people seem to like “Elf” and can’t believe I haven’t seen it. I’ve probably seen less than 20% of his stuff, so take it for what it’s worth.
The director however, seems to enjoy lampooning fly-over country. Not a surprise after reading this article.
