A California city mayor is defending his city’s decision to install honorary street signs bearing Charlie Kirk's name near City Hall after some liberal residents criticised the move.

Westminster Mayor Nguyễn Mạnh Chí (阮孟志 under pre-1910 French Indochina when "chữ Hán" was replaced by "chữ Quốc, ngữ," developed by Portugese Catholic missionaries) told Fox News Digital that Americans are "lucky we have the freedom of speech here, and we all have to respect that."

"Nobody should be murdered or assassinated because of promoting freedom of speech," Mr. Nguyễn said.

After Mr. Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA, was killed while speaking on a Utah college campus last September, Mr. Nguyễn proposed redesignating portions of All American Way as Charlie Kirk Way.

Good luck to him. California is a one-party state, with manipulated elections, and a lot of real marxists in control of its politics.

It’s California and our MSM.

If they wanted to name the road after Che, Malcolm X, or Floyd, there would be no controversy.

One of the many overlooked atrocities by the Vietnamese Communists was the brutal persecution of Catholics in the country.

Not just Catholics. Relatives of anybody married to an American.

When I was on Guam, in the USAF, I had a part time job running the hobby shop photo lab.

There was a ceramic shop in the hobby shop where patrons would carve and paint ceramics.

One very talented lady was Vietnamese, married to a US pilot, a captain.

She was always happy with a smile.

One day that ended.

After the fall of Vietnam, she got word of what had happened to her family.

The Vietcong had tortured and killed every one out to 4th cousins.

What possible criticism could there be for honoring a saintly man who died just for being a decent human being.

The left denies the term “saintly” as being non-inclusive.

The left denies Charlie Kirk was a decent human being, because he was effective in civil argument against them.

Mr. NGUYEN said no one should be murdered or asassinated because of promotinf freed om of speech. Right on true. To think they built statues (I hear) for Geo. Floyd, a known criminal. Is there something in the air or water out there? California never used to be that way.
