Just yesterday, the Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi was in Beijing, meeting with his counterpart, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
The two ministers reportedly discussed bilateral ties, the Iran-U.S. conflict, the Strait of Hormuz, and regional issues.
But today, as Araghchi is already back in Tehran, the unpredictable happened, with the Iranians reportedly striking a Chinese-owned cargo ship in the Hormuz waterways.
The attack was confirmed by US Ambassador to the United Nations, Mike Waltz.
“A Chinese-owned oil products tanker was attacked near the Strait of Hormuz on Monday, Chinese media outlet Caixin reported, as President Donald Trump launched a U.S. plan that day to help stranded vessels but suspended it a day later.
This was the first time a Chinese oil tanker has been attacked, a person with knowledge of the matter told Caixin on Thursday. The unnamed vessel’s deck caught fire and the ship was marked ‘CHINA OWNER & CREW’, according to Caixin.”
“Maritime security sources said the Chinese vessel that was damaged was believed to be the Marshall Islands-flagged oil products and chemical tanker JV Innovation, which had reported a fire on its deck to nearby ships on Monday.”

In true leftist song and dance, it’s still Donald Trumps fault.
The way a weapon’s fire should work is, the target is sighted. The target type, identity, course and speed are reported to the kill chain commander. He checks to see if it’s a legitimate target by referencing his intelligence information. If it’s a real target, he passes the word which gets to the private sitting in the weapon’s control seat. But that chain has been disrupted by the US strikes. If the information from the spotter is relayed up, and any part of the system is broken then probably no information comes back. Now the local commander has to make a call. He was probably berated by his superiors for not firing at the last sighting. So, he orders the weapon to fire. Oops!
This is why Iran fired at so many neighboring countries when that was the worst thing they could have done. The kill chain was broken and now every remote location was on its own. The local commanders were now in charge. They fired at whatever they thought should be a target.
