The Virginia Supreme Court on Friday struck down a voter-approved Democratic congressional redistricting plan, delivering another major setback to the party in a nationwide battle against Republicans for an edge in this year’s midterm elections.
The court ruled that the state’s Democratic-led legislature violated procedural requirements when it placed the constitutional amendment on the ballot to authorize the mid-decade redistricting.
This violation irreparably undermines the integrity of the resulting referendum vote and renders it null and void,” the court said in its opinion.
Democrats had hoped to win as many as four additional U.S. House seats under Virginia’s redrawn U.S. House map as part of an attempt to offset Republican redistricting done elsewhere at the urging of President Donald Trump. That ruling, combined with a recent U.S. Supreme Court decision severely weakening the Voting Rights Act, has supercharged the Republicans’ congressional gerrymandering advantage heading into this year’s midterm elections.

“Voter approved” by fellow TDS sufferers and commies
The democrats have Plan B , C , D etc etc etc ready to go ,LOL
Awesome,,,,I love it!!!
Guess they’ll just have to import another 20M “voters” of the over melanated persuasion
Haha!
Outstanding! I’m going to love witnessing the meltdown of the lefties over this.
More $$ wasted by dems! Love it..
Do they have time for a do-over?
The second Trump Administration is building momentum. It has made a lot of big moves that we fixate on so we forget that, for every one big thing we see, there are literally thousands of moves behind the scenes. The Democrats have to be shitting their pants.
Typical unbiased AP: “recent U.S. Supreme Court decision severely weakening the Voting Rights Act”
Making the USA colorblind and people getting elected based on their merits, their policies, and their wide appeal to all citizens is weakening voting rights. Right.
This thing must have been an absolute mess if that SC smacked it down.
Pardon me. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA...cough, wheeze....HAHAHAHAHA
YEEEEEEEEE ha
You confuse defeatism with being “edgy.”
YEEEEEEEEE ha
The verbiage on the ballot was written to make people believe that voting “yes” was the right thing to do. Lots of stupid uninformed people to capitalize on.
How the Democrats did it would set a precedent for any other “changes” they want to make that would need constituional approval here in Virginia.
I’m still not sure that the Dems couldn’t have done this without a constituional process here in Va. The other states did it thru their legislative process.
They’re not getting away with it but in the minds of the left it’s nothing more than tit for tat-they all do it. You look at all the New England states over the years and they’ll cry victimhood in Virginia. Indiana should be a wakeup call to them. We aren’t feffin around anymore. Instead they refuse to acknowledge their ‘24 autopsy. We’ve got 4 years to set us up for the next decade. Let’s hope our leaders don’t blow it after Trump’s gone.
This will go on in other States until. November. I will follow as best I can but just voting in Florida to cancel my dem wife’s votes.
