The University of Washington's women's soccer team were humiliated last week after losing to a group of 14-year-old boys.
Last season the Washington Huskies finished as the sixth-ranked team in women's college soccer following an impressive run to the Elite Eight stage of the playoffs, with their 15-3-7 record going down as the best in program history.
Yet despite their incredible year in 2025, the Huskies were brought crashing down to earth after suffering an embarrassing defeat to Crossfire under-14 boys last Thursday.
The scrimmage took place in Seattle on April 30, and ended in a 2-1 victory for Crossfire - an elite club program based out of Redmond, Washington.
Losing to a team of boys aged 14 or younger comes as a major blow to the Huskies, while also fueling the argument of those who believe transgender women should not be allowed to compete in women's sports.
The Huskies are one of the nation's top women's soccer programs after making it the NCAA Tournament 18 times since their inception in 1990, while winning one regular season conference championship and a conference tournament title.
Last season, they won the Big Ten Women's College Soccer Tournament to earn a No 4 seed, before upsetting No 1 seeds Virginia in the Sweet 16. They were ultimately beaten by Duke in the Elite Eight.
Crossfire under-14's win over the Huskies is not the first time a group of younger boys has got the better of an older women's team.
Back in 2017, the US women's national team were convincingly beaten by the FC Dallas under-15s academy side while preparing for an international friendly.
The Swiss women's national team were also thrashed 7-1 by an under-15s team last summer.

Not sure what the gals were expecting.
Why were University students (female or otherwise) playing 14 year old Junior High School boys in the first place?
Just seeing that difference looks to be not age appropriate.

Even the feminists don’t care.
“Gender equality”, “DEI”, “climate change” “deincarceration” “legalize drugs” etc. etc. Virtually every plank in the Democratic Party platform is defective and rotten.
I can see each of these teams wanting to play each other to sharpen their skills, but it is not smart for the girls to frame it as a “game.” They should organize it differently.

Now, for the sake of equality, they should let high-rank men’s college soccer team play under 14-yr old girls... I suspect people will cry pedophiles!
Was the soccer team made up of actual biological women or men pretending to be women?
Scrimmage games are a must at this level. You get better by playing with good competition. This makes sense to me as a player and high school coach.
We do not really know the skill level of these teams, but we also know that males are faster and stronger and have more endurance, so the score does not surprise me.
I am totally in favor of keeping female and male teams restricted by gender at birth, but I have no problem with practice games such as this for development of advanced playing skills. Don’t make too much about this game being a mismatch. I frequently had my varsity forwards scrimmage against my JV Defense.

True, but from what I’ve read the boys team was better than the women’s team.
