Unlike the other services USN ships are DESIGNED TO TAKE HITS AND KEEP FIGHTING OR PROCEED TO A TENDER OR WORSE CASE A SHIPYARD. Sinking ships requires underwater damage.

You overestimate the ability of Iran and China in this. We are currently putting them to the test and they haven't done nothing. All I see on here from posters is articles about what if's. The US is doing action and nothing so far suggest Iran and China can challenge. That is the reality.
