One of the potential military options that Trump will reportedly be considering is a “short and powerful” wave of airstrikes…
Of course any new attack by the U.S. will likely provoke a very strong response from the Iranians.
In fact, one Iranian official is pledging that there would be “long and painful strikes” in retaliation…

so is it going to be short and powerful, or long and painful.
Who knows. If China does this AND we acquire losses, will we turn on them next?

It takes more than a missile strike to SINK a modern CVN.

Non-essential Chinese chattels could be banned from importation - clothing, kitchen stuff, toys, etc.
Forever!

How did those missiles get to Iran? And why haven’t those railways been taken out?

I don’t thing we should trade anything with those evil chinese autistic robots.

Sinking a carrier would pretty much take a nuke. In any event, sinking a carrier would unleash certain hell on Iran.
Sure, a carrier is a legit target. If Iran can take one out, they could…I guess. But any strategic thinker should always be asking, “Then what?” That exercise would not work out well for Iran.

Hormuz is blocked, but they have other ports, in fact, the ships trying to get to Hormuz are actually encouraged to go to the other ports without harassment or investigation

the Germans got lucky and sank HMS Hood back in the day. The Iranians could get lucky.

China is one of the biggest buyers of Iranian oil. They have the most to lose from this war. Only logical that they would supply the Iranians with weapons (and intel).

China isn’t giving the Iranians anything. The Iranians don’t have the where with all to do anything painful. We have demolished them.

several large jets from China flew into Iran shortly after the ceasefire.

A missile strike on a CVN would probably cause a reactor scram which could be worse than the actual damage caused by the missile warhead -- depending.
That is why I think we need a mix of CV's and CVN's.

The HMS Hood was one of the only ships lost in WWII listed as “blown up” and not “sunk”.

“If the Pentagon does not take these threats seriously, we could end up with warships on the bottom of the ocean.”
We can only hope that the Pentagon planners can see the dangers as clearly as Michael Snyder.
In essence, Snyder thinks that Iran cannot be defeated by the United States.
