Now that the FBI is busting fake Somali day cares in Minneapolis, Somali pirates are taking to the high seas back in their own country and hijacking ships, taking hostages and hoping Gov. Tim Walz shows up.
Thus far the piracy has been mostly internal with a Pakistani crew, Indonesians and Syrians taken hostage. That also says something about which sailors and ships felt comfortable operating near Somalia.
Thus far three ships have been hijacked in a week by the Somalis.
Somali officials who have benefited from massive amounts of foreign aid are arguing for negotiations and claiming that they can’t directly intervene due to clan politics.
The Somali pirates are operating out of Puntland which is also where Rep. Ilhan Omar’s war criminal father operated.
So as usual the Somali pirate apple doesn’t fall far from the political tree.

Interesting comment about hijacked ships having crews from Muslim countries. No Philippine crews
They could have started piracy on the Great Lakes. Lot closer to Minneapolis

Doesn’t matter. It’s a whacko.
Some have armed security, but it can cause trouble. In 2013 India imprisoned 35 security guards who were in their territorial water for “unlicensed firearms” and kept them in prison for 4 years. All were later acquitted, but that doesn’t give 4 years back.

So why would Somali pirates hope that Tim Walz shows up? I don’t see the dimwitted governor as a very good fighter.

Now that hunting safaris are seen as extremely politically incorrect AND the Greenie Wienies want the human population reduced - why not put together an Adventure Cruise that can't be matched for excitement while ridding the seas of this vermin? Those speed boats make for challenging targets.
