Europe is the fastest-warming continent on Earth, the European State of the Climate Report for 2025 has found.
From the Mediterranean to the Arctic Circle, its climate is shifting in ways that are no longer subtle, no longer gradual, and no longer distant.
The consequences are cascading across Europe’s environment, economy, and ecosystems.
With hotter air, warmer seas, shrinking ice, drying soils, and stressed ecosystems, the warning signals are screaming from every part of the climate system.
Europe has been warming at a rate of 0.56°C per decade throughout the past 30 years. This is more than twice as fast as the global average, which is 0.27°C per decade.
The only part of the world warming faster than Europe is the Arctic, where the rate of warming is 0.75°C per decade.
With its rapid pace of warming, Europe is beginning to look like a testing ground for what accelerated climate change looks like in real time, and for how quickly societies can respond. …

I had a couple of profs in undergrad, who would get rather salty if someone referred to Europe as a “continent”. Both of them strictly followed the four continent model, rather than the seven continent model. So, they’d correct students and say that Europe is simply a peninsular region of Afrasia. Likewise, that there is only one American Continent.

The obvious conclusion is that shutting down power plants causes global warming. Europe needs to start aggressively building coal powered plants to reverse the warming trend.
Where are they going to find any virgins in Europe?

Europe is the most densely populated region on the planet. Maybe they should cut back immigration to Europe.
The EU has been “modernizing” it's weather station system ..
The new stations use newer technology that has 1.5 deg C intrinsically higher temperature measurement. (ie use new and old technology back to back and the new system reads 1.5 deg C higher.
They have been phasing these new weather stations in slowly to give the impression of higher average temperature
OK, so how do they keep the warming confined to Europe? Is this like the non-smoking part of the plane, or the non-peeing part of the pool?

I hear what you’re saying and have seen several studies on the “temperature island effect” I think they call it. They keep monitoring stations in the same places as cities grow up around them and then compare old records with the new ones and, like you described, the temp. averages are up.
But they just switched the game, again. Now we’re headed for an “Ice Age” because the Atlantic current is about to “collapse.” Just saw a new video of Man-Bear-Pig Algore today droning on about the coming “Ice Age.”
It’s hard to fight the narratives promoted by people who are dedicated to irrationality.
