More Americans are choosing to walk away from difficult relationships instead of working through them, a new survey has revealed.
Nearly two in five Americans — 38% — say they have gone "no contact" with a friend or family member in the past year, according to a survey of 2,000 adults conducted in March by Talker Research for the therapy platform Talkspace...
Younger Americans were far more likely than older generations to report cutting someone off. The survey found that 60% of Gen Z respondents had gone "no contact," compared to 50% of millennials, 38% of Gen X and 20% of baby boomers...
John Puls..said , "This generation appears to have a low tolerance for otherwise poor behavior from their parents," .. "They are often conflict-avoidant, which prevents them from trying to meaningfully work through their issues with their parents."..
Thirty-six percent of overall respondents said the top reason for severing ties with someone was feeling disrespected. Nearly 30% said the relationship negatively affected their mental health or that the other person was too negative....
The cutoffs often appear to last.

The Baby Boomers that invented damn near everything that’s worth a damn, created enormous wealth and built the greatest economy in the world, and knew that boys don’t need tampons and there are only two sexes?
Oh, whaaaaah.
Good luck with your lazy cohorts who think they’re above rolling up their sleeves and putting in the extra hours and hard work it takes, for longterm success.
How old are you? Twelve? Go back to your PlayStation and complain to there.
Steve Jobs is a great example. Founded Apple but obviously he was woke.

Shove it, whiner.
I am a boomr and to be honest with you, I never put any of you in the mess we are in now. I could say we inherited this mess from my parents generation.
You can’t blanket blame a whole generation for the current problems.
I love young people and have a great deal of compassion for the difficulties young people live now. I was married in the early 70’s. My husband was drafted and sent to Vietnam 2 months later. I was pregnant and he was gone for a year. We weren’t wealthy but had good family who loved us, so we got by. I hated that war and it sure wasn’t my generation that put us there. I never became angry and blamed others for our plight.
It is popular right now to blame Boomers. I think of the really old Boomers in Congress that need to be retired and don’t blame any younger folks for wanting them to get out. I want them to just get out too. Their time is over.
The problems aren’t generational, they are caused by foul and failed ideologies that need to be defunct that have passed down for generations.
Generalize much, dumbass? You know we can hear you.
Children turn out a bit differently when both Mommy and Daddy have jobs to support the family.
All this aside, the Smart Phone has destroyed society and human relationships.
🤔
I wonder why? Ha.
You can be a righteous rocker, you can be a holy roller You could be most anything You could be a Leon Russell, or a super muscle You could be a corporate king You could be a wealthy man from Texas, or a witch with heavy hexes But without love, you ain't nothing without love Without love you ain't nothing, without love You could be a brilliant surgeon, or a sweet young virgin Or a harlot out to sell You could learn to play the blues, or be Howard Hughes Or the scarlet pimpernel Or you could be a French provincial midwife Or go from door to door with a death-knife But without love you ain't nothing, without love Without love you ain't nothing, without love You could be a woman feeler, or a baby stealer You could drink your life away Or you could be a holy prophet, get a blessing off it Or you could fast for fifty days You could shake hands with the devil, or give your life to God on the level But without love you ain't nothing, without love Without love you ain't nothing, without love
I’m a boomer and would cut you off but we’re not relatives. So you’re still in.
I’m not taking the blame for the earlier trashy people any more than ones today should practice self-flagellation for the woke types socialists today.
We’re not allowed to cull the population at any time.
“Don’t get me wrong but isn’t that against the law?”—Karl the Assistant Groundskeeper in Caddyshack.
She broke my heart soo I broke her jaw. Seemed appropriate and just.
Just which Boomers are the culprits? Name names. I won’t call you a nazi, or stick a derogatory label on you for having an opinion.
I can probably guess, but I don’t want to. I would bet you and I probably would agree on a whole lot lately.
Anyway, if you don’t want to answer, fine, I get it.
How rapid it was shocks me as well, and how encompassing of the West, I think it was mass communication that put modern man into the hands of a few 10s of thousands of people (of largely the more lacking of the more noble qualities), mass education, mass publishing, mass movies, mass TV, mass advertising, tied in with the scatterings of townspeople and families to great distances from their original ties.
Cut off my liberal lawyer (redundant) brother after he went a bit berserk when I told him the 2020 election was stolen.
His insane Trump hatred plus decades of his snarky comments insinuating I was an ignorant redneck......
butt-hurt boomers in a total state of denial
what a surprise
Bikes Were the Thing for me ...
Sting-Rays and modify them to the max !

We’ve lost alot and I think it’s
Curiosity.
Some families are too disfunctional to continue keeping in contact. Too many families have a black sheep. Keeping one at arms length or distance is sometimes called for. Then there’s total cutoffs. No need to keep contact ewoth the screwed up amongst us.
When your entire life revolves around a phone 6” from your face what would you expect?
I don’t put up with family BS either. Haven’t spoken to my only brother twice in 18 years. He’s a liberal, BLM, social justice warrior POS at 73... F’n moron.
When I talk to the grandkids I expect eye contact when I speak, if not they get it quickly.
