Carson Bender was set up at the base of a tree while hunting on private land near Nekoosa — about 100 miles north of Madison — when he turned around to find the fierce predator stalking him.
The 19-year-old hunter quickly whipped out his phone to record the encounter as the bobcat slowly inched closer to him, video posted on his Instagram page shows.
“I pan over with the phone, and the bobcat is just staring at me,” he told the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. “I was like, uh-oh.”
The cat locked in on Bender for a few tense moments — then, in the blink of an eye, lunged at him, grabbing the teen by the arm before the video cut to black.
Bender said he was able to quickly shake the cat off him before it ran off.

Never did like him.................
B-i-i-i-g kitty!
Don’t bring a phone camera to a cat fight.
Enjoyed his supporting role in the Bill Murray film Scrooged.
Moron, called in a cat with his turkey call, and then just sat there and “hey, I know, I’ll go for my camera”.
Why not whip out his gun instead?
As much as I hate to admit it, I’ve never seen ‘Scrooged’...............
After the attack he missed his shot at the turkey he was waiting for, I think he got nervous from cat scratch fever, it happens to young hunters.
The camo had the bobcat confused. I had a similar thing happen with a red fox when I was bowhunting in camo.
great movie!
“terrifying viral video”
Must notta been that bad, the article goes on to say he went back to the exact same spot the next day and continued hunting. Lol!
Classic teenage idiot. Probably thought he would post on tik tok or instagram and become an influencer.
He should have used that 12ga. with turkey loads to smoke that bobcat. His friends. If he actually has any, would have been more impressed.
12ga #6 Hi-Brass (what I used while Turkey Hunting) at close range would have ripped that cat a new one. A camera is only good for recording the remains.
I’ve had bobcats in my back yard. Mostly only see the tail disappearing. There was a black one that i do not think was a feral cat. It took a dump and covered it over up by my fence repair. Just looked at me sitting in my gazebo, took the dump then walked off.
I know that’s the first thing I’d do is whip out my cell phone. After all, think how many hits you could get when you post it. 😵
His performance in Shakes the Clown was legendary....the stuff of legends.
