Trump Responds After Iran Blocks Strait Of Hormuz: ‘No More Mr. Nice Guy’

President Donald Trump once again threatened to strike core Iranian infrastructure, including power plants and bridges, in a lengthy Truth Social post on Sunday morning. The post comes after the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) reneged on a previous agreement to open the Strait of Hormuz and fired on multiple civilian vessels over the weekend.

“Iran decided to fire bullets yesterday in the Strait of Hormuz — A Total Violation of our Ceasefire Agreement! Many of them were aimed at a French Ship, and a Freighter from the United Kingdom. That wasn’t nice, was it?” the president wrote.

Trump once again stated that the U.S. has no interest in the Strait of Hormuz, through which roughly one-fifth of the world’s oil exports traveled through prior to the outbreak of the conflict. “In fact, many Ships are headed, right now, to the U.S., Texas, Louisiana, and Alaska, to load up, compliments of the IRGC, always wanting to be ‘the tough guy!'” he continued.

The president then vowed to resume the conflict if a deal is not reached in the near future. “We’re offering a very fair and reasonable DEAL, and I hope they take it because, if they don’t, the United States is going to knock out every single Power Plant, and every single Bridge, in Iran,” Trump continued.

“NO MORE MR. NICE GUY! They’ll come down fast, they’ll come down easy and, if they don’t take the DEAL, it will be my Honor to do what has to be done, which should have been done to Iran, by other Presidents, for the last 47 years. IT’S TIME FOR THE IRAN KILLING MACHINE TO END!”

Trump also stated Sunday that the two sides will once again be meeting in Islamabad, Pakistan for another round of talks on a peace deal. In a statement to the New York Post, Trump stated that Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, will be traveling to Pakistan on Monday.

Vice President Vance, who traveled to Pakistan alongside Kushner and Witkoff last weekend, will not be in attendance for the upcoming talks.

The latest developments come after Iran fired on multiple civilian vessels in the Strait of Hormuz after previously stating that the vital waterway would be open just a day earlier. Regime officials stated that the IRGC was in “full control” of the strait and added that it will remain close so long as a wider U.S. blockade is in effect.

In response, Trump convened a meeting in the White House situation room on Saturday and suggested that further military action is on the table once the current ceasefire expires.

Name one agreement Iran has agreed to and honored since 1977. Time to show them that lying is not nice.

Bombs away! But we need to emphasize starving out the IRGC. They control Iran’s oil sales and run their operations from oil profits.

We blockade all tankers with Iranian crude or planning on tanking up at Kharg Island. This makes IRGC unable to pay their fanatics. They will drift away to help out at home. Finding stuff to eat and fuel to cook with. How to make some money somehow.
Thug armies need to be paid.

Anything on the coastline should be obliterated.

Hit the infrastructure in the areas that impact the IRGC and Basij the most. Drop firearms where they’re not.

“Pull a Venezuela” on somebody high ranking. Rain terror upon them.

My instinct tells me Trump does not want to start this up again. He’s very happy that crude prices fell $20 over the past few days. And he has the midterms to consider.

So what happens after the Iranians sign “The Deal” tomorrow in Pakistan? What’s to keep them from violating it, like they have always done? We shouldn’t let up until the IRGC is dissolved.

Has anyone seen these printed and signed agreements they are said to have violated? Why are these not publicly published?

The best way to screw IRAN is to find another route, take out and/or occupy the Islan.

A lot of those ships are carrying goods...find overland routes.

Iran does have a huge bargaining chip...Maybe the shippers can figure it out.

The big thing remains...Iran does NOT own the strait.

> They probably think they can keep that up until the Democrats are in control again <

Or maybe they just need to keep it up until May 1. That’s when the War Powers Act kicks in.

Trump must stop offensive action unless both houses of Congress give him permission to continue the conflict.

Of course Trump can ignore the Act, and continue the war. Then what would Congress do? Probably nothing.

Unfortunately, IMHO, every time DJT makes a proclamation of being “close” to a deal and Iran reneges, as Iran always does, Iran makes a laughing stock out of the U. S. and DJT. That’s how Iran wins this conflict. Each time they renege on a so-called deal or cease fire, the support for the conflict and DJT drops. That gives the Democrats the fodder they need to cut DJT off at the knees. And it’s working.

From what we’ve been told, we’ve destroyed virtually everything in Iran, so they have nothing to protect and nothing with which to “make a deal.”

We can’t defeat an enemy that believes dying for “Allah” is above all else, without completely elimination every person who believes that.

Wow, a repeat of the media agenda. Almost word for word.

What do you suppose the rest of the story is? Trump is goal oriented, you adjust as things change, have we ever seen Trump give up?

There’s two different viewpoints. The Iranians insist that opening the Straight was subject to the US lifting the blockade. Trump, in his tweet says that the blockade will be in place until Iran lifts its threat and until there’s a final agreement.

Both sides don’t see it the same way.

There’s also one other complication and a bigger problem— WE DON’T REALLY KNOW IF THE PARTY THE USA IS NEGOTIATING WITH REALLY SPEAKS FOR ALL OF IRAN. Can they even make a final decision for Iran? I’m seeing disagreements and quarreling within Iran itself.

A lot of the Iranian leaders including the Ayatollah, Clerics and several IRGC Commanders have been killed such that the country is now being controlled by various factions, each with its own demands and weapons.

When you make an agreement with the party you think speaks for Iran, other powerful parties might say that party does not speak for them.

I think Trump’s tweets on Truth Social are wayyy too optimistic and premature. It ASSUMES that the party the US is negotiating with is in control when they aren’t.

“Trump keeps announcing success only to have the mullahs pull the rug out from under him. He’d do better to get tough, say less, and have the results speak for themselves.”

Just what success has Trump announced that the mullahs “pulled the rug” on, Mr. TDS?

If you’re referring to his announcement that “the Strait is open” - he was merely repeating what (one of) Iran’s revolving door “authorities” said first.

I’m sure you’ll have no problem backing up your assertion. /s

The strategy should be terminate whoever is in charge.

Problem it is hard to tell who is in charge what is more it hard to tell the moderates from the extremists because as we all know there aren’t any moderates and there never were any moderates.

I don’t have a problem with going after power plants and bridges, but they should target central command if there is one and can identify it.

I’ll believe it when I actually see bombs dropping, til then nothing changes. Iranian women are being hung TODAY, for doing NOTHING, 9 are scheduled to be executed today, for the Iranian people, when bombs drop its a sign of HOPE, when it stops they cower in fear because the regime is coming. There are no “Decent people” in this regime, they are barbarians and you cant talk to scum like that, PERIOD..we need to start bombing again, and kill every single IRGC and regime member, but this time dont announce it JUST DO IT

At this stage of the war, it’s time for Trump to stop talking and just respond with action.

I cannot be sure, but my guess is that Trump wants to be in a situation where it is very clear to the non rabid world that Iran cannot be trusted to make any sort of deals with anyone, and that co-existence is not desired. That their goal goes as far as suicidal destruction.
Then....it will be a very bloody takeover and elimination of the mullahs and their apparatus.
IMHO.
