But now the Democrat from New York is feeling buoyed by his party’s unity in the latest government funding fight, as well as by President Donald Trump’s worsening political standing, and he’s brimming with confidence about Democrats’ odds of retaking the Senate, seeing as many as eight seats in play in November.

As long as 60 votes are needed...this is the way it is. Thune is not at fault...he’s been great.

My math says D+8 at this point in time, but as Yogi said, “predictions are difficult, especially about the future”.

You all can help by promoting “hold your nose and vote for John Sununu” in the NH Senate race, he’s running against a Mayor Pete wannabe with several terms in Congress, and to win he needs every single RINO hater in NH to turn out and vote for him.

Collins has won some tough races. I see her as the adult in the room should the Planter fella advance. Her next big challenge will be walking the tight rope should a SCOTUS retirement come up this summer. In that case the nominee should be an elected conservative in the senate that would expose more the leftist hatred. Cruz or the younger guys from Arkansas/Missouri fit the bill. Of course there’s my favorite-JD. That’s throwing them a curve. Our ‘28 POTUS bench is strong. JD has taken some manufactured flack in the last few days. The Collins speech in favor of Kavanaugh was heroic.

For the first time since November last year, Kalshi betting gives Dems the edge, 52-48.

In March, Republicans were favored to hold the majority, 82-18.

His lips were moving, so use the “inverse law” of Democrat Speak. In otherwords, restructure their statements to say exactly opposite of what they say. It is not what they say, it is what they mean. So, Chuckie is terribly worried that they are going to get wiped out in the next election, so you better send lots of money.

I have held my nose and voted for every rino in the general election since Bush 1 (because the best r’s get primaried out) and the alternative is worse.

Platner is a progressive loonie, but at this point he’s a prohibitive favorite. Like Fetterman, he’s an unconventional populist and this year he fits the vibe of disappointment with the direction of the country. Collins is toast, I think.

This is Eli’s Proverb: “The Reverse Law of Semantics: Beware the tongue that heals with poison and the decree that enslaves in the name of liberty; for when the architect of words builds a wall and calls it a bridge, the truth is found only by inverted sight.”

Politic Speak is the epitome of Eli’s Proverb. It is direct reworking of Isaiah 5:20, “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.”

The only way he can make good on that claim is if the Save America act doesn’t pass. Voter ID, etc, will knock at least 10% off DemocRat vote totals in most Blue states.

Good point. There is a Lincoln analogy here. But in some ways, Trump has it worse. Lincoln had considerable support among the media of his time (newspapers).

Trump doesn’t have that advantage.

I would add one more thing. The average northerner had a good idea of why the Civil War was being fought. The attack on Fort Sumter kinda put things in focus.

I really don’t think the average (note “average”) American today has that same understanding when it comes to the Iran conflict.

I am completely disappointed with the republicans handling of of the Virginia redistricting campaign. If this is an example of what we should expect in the fall— then yes, Schumer is not wrong

The problem with foreign wars is that the glory of success allows republicans to take their eyes off the ball.
