In historic first, Baylor will allow gay Christian advocates on campus

Faced with a mounting backlash against a Turning Point USA rally to be held on campus, Baylor University administrators have granted a coalition of student groups permission to hold a counter-event on campus with two well-known gay Christians as speakers.

This is believed to be the first time Baylor has allowed an openly gay Christian advocacy speaker on campus for such an event.

Whether related or not, the university also announced April 7 that Willie Nelson will appear in concert on campus in May. The country singer reportedly has not been on campus since he left there as a student in 1954.

The “All Are Neighbors” event will be held on campus April 22, the same day as the TPUSA “This Is the Turning Point” tour on campus in Waco Hall, the largest auditorium on campus. No information is yet available on where the “All Are Neighbors” event will be held.

Can gay people be saved? Sure. Is acting on gay impulses a sin? Sure. Does that mean permanent excommunication from God? No. Nor should they be barred from church services.

But that’s a far cry from acknowledging it to CELEBRATING it as is being done here.

We still condemn church leaders and pastors who commit adultery. There’s no “Christian swingers” club!

Baylor has been going down the tubes for over a decade now. Pathetic.

I'm a graduate of Baylor ('86) and completely agree, although I'd say probably even longer. Doubt I'd recognize it now.

No such thing as a gay Christian.

Nobody brags on being a Christian extortioner, a Christian drug dealer, a Christian serial adulterer, a Christian thief.

1 Corinthians 5:1-13 It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and of a kind that is not tolerated even among pagans, for a man has his father's wife. And you are arrogant! Ought you not rather to mourn? Let him who has done this be removed from among you.

For though absent in body, I am present in spirit; and as if present, I have already pronounced judgment on the one who did such a thing. When you are assembled in the name of the Lord Jesus and my spirit is present, with the power of our Lord Jesus, you are to deliver this man to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, so that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord.

Your boasting is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump? Cleanse out the old leaven that you may be a new lump, as you really are unleavened. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed. Let us therefore celebrate the festival, not with the old leaven, the leaven of malice and evil, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

I wrote to you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people—not at all meaning the sexually immoral of this world, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters, since then you would need to go out of the world. But now I am writing to you not to associate with anyone who bears the name of brother if he is guilty of sexual immorality or greed, or is an idolater, reviler, drunkard, or swindler—not even to eat with such a one. For what have I to do with judging outsiders? Is it not those inside the church whom you are to judge? God judges those outside. “Purge the evil person from among you.”

1 Corinthians 6:9-11 Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

Not a practicing gay Christian. But there are homosexuals, and other types of sinners who became Christians and stopped doing homosexual acts and other sins.

First Corinthians 6:9-11.

I think it was only one female dorm that had upper classmen coeds. It was around 79 or 80. Not in the Freshman dorms. A long gone era....

“It’s an oxymoron. You can be gay or Christian. Not both.”
____________________________________________________________

Being gay is no worse than any other sin. You are either forgiven by grace, or not. Nothing else matters.

And, again, it’s not about the sin itself. It’s about the church CELEBRATING it as they’re doing here. Does the church celebrate adultery? Do we have Christian swinger “activists” giving their testimony and celebrating they’re human too?

Cooperative Baptist Fellowship folks. We know their colours. And those who understand the worldview of the CBF should understand the CBF controls church music and church teachings in numerous congregations.

You, like a lot of other Christians, are incorrect about sins not being different. There are indeed sins which “cry to Heaven for vengeance.” Sodom’s sin was one of these.

There are still conspiracy nuts who are saying that Charlie Kirk’s assassination was an inside job. The same ones who are trashing Erica. I don’t know what to do with these people.

“This is believed to be the first time Baylor has allowed an openly gay Christian advocacy speaker on campus for such an event.” Why the hell is this important to a college?

It's important because they are jelly-spined about letting other people tell them what is important to them. A complete lack of principle.

The article implies that TPUSA coming to hold an event on campus has stirred up a lot of opposition. This is their attempt at "fair play" by allowing a gay group a place on the stage.

The events are being held simultaneously. That means that there is a definite chance of a public protest by the queer group antagonizing the Christian group. Bank on it.
