A year after threatening to “dramatically” downsize the operations of San Francisco’s Presidio, President Donald Trump has terminated the park’s board of trustees.
The six trustees, who were all appointed by former President Joe Biden, received letters of termination on Wednesday. The Presidio Trust still has not been informed if new trustees have been appointed.
“The Administration has informed our board members that their appointments to the Presidio Trust board have been terminated,” the trust said in a statement to the Chronicle. “We had been anticipating that we would ultimately receive new board members and are awaiting information on the new appointments. We have a long history of wonderful leaders serving the Presidio, and we look forward to welcoming and working with the new members.”
The Presidio Trust board of trustees is made up of six members who serve at the will of the president and one who is appointed by the Secretary of the U.S. Department of the Interior. That board seat has been vacant for several years.
The six members of the Presidio Trust board terminated were Chairman Mark Buell, Vice Chair Chuck Collins, Lenore “Leni” Eccles, Patsy Ishiyama, Bonnie LePard and Nicola Minor. The terms of three of the trustees expired last May and three were set to expire in May of 2027.

May the winning continue.
Whenever any liberal whines about that, never forget Bidet fired Lee Greenwood by email when he served on the National Endowment of the Arts. Bidet did it for spite.
I hope Bidet and his nasty wife live with the knowledge of how much they are despised by the universe.
Cool! Take out the trash.
I sure hope their banking records are investigated! 😏😏😡😡
The corrupt judges are fighting among themselves for who gets to overturn this.
I forgot that one. Joey & Jill B. did so many evil things it’s so hard to keep track of them all.
Neither of them have a conscience or sense of morality.
The Presidio occupies a lot of valuable real estate... maybe sell some of it and down-size?
In Trump’s first term, he appointed Michael Savage as Director then at some point, Nancy P or Bidet had him removed.
It should be brought back as an Army post.
It was a beautiful locale for the Army to occupy and having actual sane American military there provided a polarity to the loony leftists who turned SF into an anti-American trash pit.
I recall visiting San Francisco almost thirty years ago on our way to Hawaii.
We stayed a couple nights at Giradelli Square.
I thought back then that the US could pay off our $3 Trillion National Debt if they had sold off the Presidio back then.
This was back when a townhouse next to where Joe and Marilyn had lived was worth the sky high price of $400K or more.
The Federal government owns waterfront property up and down both US coasts and islands like Hawaii that is literally worth trillions of dollars.
Sell it.
Pay down the debt.
I believe Sousa wrote music, “Presidio”.
I agree it was a useful place. Letterman Hospital as well.
“Pay down the debt.”
So they can run it up again? They will you know.
Can anyone say lawsuit? Not justified, but someone will file anyway.
I’m sorry, but the president isnt allowed to do this without the consent and approval of an Obama or Biden appointed Judge.

In 1776, the same year the United States was founded, Spain built a military fort – a “presidio” – overlooking what today is called San Francisco Bay. The San Francisco Presidio was operated as a military post by Mexico from 1822 until 1846, when the United States Army took it over after winning the Mexican-American War.
The Presidio was an important military post. It played a role in every major American conflict from the Civil War through Desert Storm. Generations of soldiers served here, and many are buried in the Presidio at the San Francisco National Cemetery.
Given its history, architecture and beautiful landscapes, the Presidio was declared a National Historic Landmark District in 1962, recognized by the federal government for its significance to American history and culture.
