The city of San Francisco slapped a longtime property owner with a $50,000 fine for trimming the trees right outside his home.

I wanted to get them out of the power lines. I didn’t want to be responsible for that.”
“Dennes said his family has owned the home since 1988 and that he’s never seen the city trim the trees, which he assumed were on his property.”
The Commies in control of San Francisco want to abolish private property.
WELL SH*T..... they’ve gotta make money for the government criminals! ....imho
I met a guy on a golf course outside of Santa Cruz.
They had a tree that they wanted to remove as it was going to fall on the house in a couple years.
The city refused to let them cut it down.
I assume the house got destroyed and that insurance had to rebuild the home.
Legalized theft...
Thank God our electrical lines are underground. However most of us get our trees trimmed every year or two because hurricanes can be nasty to them. I had one tree fall during Irma. Thank goodness it didn’t hit the house.
Here in Atlanta...rarely trim trees....wait til nature takes it down on the power lines or cars. Atlanta seems to worship risky trees.
My brother needed to trim some oak trees - on HIS property that were interfering with the power lines and growing over his roof and onto the neighbor’s property - in an area well known for wild fires.
The tree trimmers told him they were not allowed to trim back the trees b/c they are oaks. Checked with the city and it was true.
He was grateful for the warning b/c the fines are thousands of dollars.
LIVING RURAL HAS MORE PERKS THAN I REALIZED...
HAVE DONE SO FOR ALMOST 33 YEARS
TBH if they WERE proper power lines, for safety reasons a homeowner really has no business trimming any where near them in the first place.
Having said that, I would expect nothing less from crapafornia.
My city sends in crews to hack back the trees - and I mean hack - the tree on my median is completely deformed from being hacked back by city workers over the years. I had an arborist friend look at it and he said it was beyond hope after being improperly cut back over so many years.
City workers also butchered trees along the median on my street - most of them ended up dead and this year the city came and removed many of the dead or 1/2 dead trees - with no replacements. I live in a very hot city that needs trees for shade.
Hire and Illegal and they’ll take all the power lines down with 1 cut ,LOL
He was in a no-win situation - he couldn’t get his home insured b/c of the trees in the power lines and too close to his home (this is BIG in California after the wildfires) - and he couldn’t get the city to come out and trim them back (said the trees had never been trimmed since he’d lived there, 38 years).
City wants to make an example of him and confiscate his property. Commies have no problem with this.
Anyone owning property in San Francisco must expect to be exploited.
City workers never get fined, unions at work
And if it the trees in the power lines would have caused a fire, you can bet SF would sue or fine him for that.
SF is a ####hole with a corrupt incompetent city government. Move people.
If it were me I think I would have consulted with a tree surgeon....and probably more than one.
He hadda contact some local agency. They contacted a licensed arborist who examined the tree and told him to post a sign. The sign said he wanted to cut down the sapling and if anybody objected to contact the local agency, etc.
He was in stage 3 when I talked to him.
I love California and lived there for a few years. But I hate the 'K' demographic mutts that live there. ('K'alifornians) Everything they touch turns to crap.
“I’m from the government. I see that you did something. And I’m going to get you for that.”
It’s more anarcho-tyranny. Bad Guys can actually do whatever they want. But if you are a long-time homeowner who pays his taxes — watch out! The government will be trying to stomp on you.
On the way to northern cali, I spent a day in SF back in the 80s before it went completely round the bend.
A really unique and beautiful city with so much history and architecture......but even back then, being from the conservative South, observing the people that day I could tell it was in the very early beginnings of circling the bowl......and sure enough here they are.
