‘Angels and Demons’ documentary explores existence of supernatural beings

Billy Hallowell trusts the biblical accounts of angels and demons as a Christian, but as an investigative reporter, he wasn’t ready to accept stories of spiritual beings influencing the modern world without digging into the evidence.

He found plenty of credible sources and compelling testimonials during his research for “Investigating the Supernatural: Angels & Demons,” the second documentary in his series with filmmaker Jarrod Anderson for the Christian Broadcasting Network.

“Even though I believed a lot of these things in my mind, I’m a natural skeptic,” said Mr. Hallowell, a columnist and digital host for The Washington Times.

“When I come into a story, if you tell me you’ve experienced a miracle or seen an angel or a demon, I say, OK, prove that to me. Show me this is actually happening,” he said.

The documentary, released March 16, tracks Mr. Hallowell as he interviews theologians, as well as scientists, psychologists and eyewitnesses, lending credence to the idea that paranormal entities continue to cross paths with humans in an ongoing spiritual battle between good and evil.

“I think Jarrod and I both have a very high standard in wanting to know that what we’re presenting is actually true,” Mr. Hallowell said. “We really spent a lot of time on these stories to make sure that what we’re presenting was going to be compelling.”

At the end of the project, he said, “I can speak for myself, my mind was really blown away by a lot of the stories we encountered.”

The statement parallels Tim Burchett’s comment of a day or two ago. Just because we have not yet seen or experienced extra-terrestrial aliens, the Devil, his demons, or Christ and his angels doesn’t mean they don’t exist. There are enough reliable reports out there from rational people that no one should simply dismiss the entire extra-dimensional phenomena as did the notorious Doubting Apostle, Thomas. Easter is clearly a reminder that there are many things we haven’t personally experienced, but which are minds can clearly appreciate.

“Distractions. Fear porn to keep the masses looking the wrong way.”

Most of us in the masses, not as enlightened as you, still believe in evil dark forces.

Skepticism is a healthy attitude. However, in the Judeo-Christian tradition there are real miracles described. A miracle is an event that is above, or beyond, any natural explanation.

It becomes a failure of human arrogance when real miracles are denied because you cannot describe them naturally.

Enjoy the show, but remember your limits as a human in the presence of the Creator of the universe!

Either one believes in the Bible or they do not. Jesus cast out demons 12 times in recorded testament but undoubtedly did more. Even Paul got into the act with a divining slave girl, freeing her from the spirit.

It’s not complicated.

Eph 6:12 KJV

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
