Burchett — a member of the House Task Force on the Declassification of Federal Secrets — recalled that he was briefed two weeks ago “on an issue” about extraterrestrial life that “would have set the Earth” on fire and “unglued” the country if released.
When Finnerty played a clip of former Rep. Matt Gaetz alleging knowledge of alien-human hybrid breeding programs, Burchett stopped short of directly addressing the explosive claims. “I’m still a member of Congress, so I can’t really comment too much on what Matt said,” Burchett told Finnerty.
“Wait, seriously?” Finnerty slightly pushed back.
“I’m being 100% serious,” Burchett replied.

““Why would aliens go to the time, trouble, and expense to visit Earth?””
to either save us or get the earth’s resources, of course. Doesn’t anyone watch the movies?
If I took a physics class in 1700, would it teach me what I needed to know to build a flying machine?
Would that knowledge limit in 1700 represent a genuine natural limit in the physical world?
A flying machine was always possible before Daniel Bernoulli's 1738 discovery.
Physics didn't change, but understanding grew.
I hesitate to place limits on what remains to be discovered about how our universe works.
“”I am a devoted SciFi fan also but understand it’s fiction. The worse the science is in the story the quicker my interest in the story\episode\series dies. (There are some exceptions!) For example, I loathe Lost in Space and Dr Who, even did as a kid! Exceptions to my general rule is: “Does the series have hot chicks?”. Which means I’ll tolerate UFO UK TV series* & Space 1999 (a lessor hot chick’s factor here!).
* Extraordinarily dumb aliens even dumber the the ones supposedly visting now! Current aliens can’t drive! I suspect they’re the equivalent of drunken teenagers joy riding.””

Same here. I recall sitting in front of my parents’ old-style tv at the ripe age of 5 or 6, watching any and every “space” show they had back then. I’m sure my parents thought I was weird back then (they’d probably be right).
As for dumb aliens, the funniest example of that in flicks was the alien in Signs that couldn’t figure out how to get out of a locked pantry. That was hilarious and showed to me that the writers had a really good sense of humor. I mean... they weren’t serious.... were they? lol
Thanks Sheldon! JK!
Physics is the same. The speed of light is the same. The amount of energy to reach a given velocity is the same. The rocket equation is universal. Hydrogen atom’s s and microscopic flecks of dust will collide with your spacecraft going a significant fraction of light and release the same energy and impart the same retrograde momentum, etc. how the scientists in some possible advanced civilization describe their model is irrelevant.
In 1973 in my junior college physics courses, the professor said that this was a dead end course, as all that was to be discovered was already discovered.
Said that photo voltaic cells were never going to work, as the physics said that the amount of energy from the sun was insufficient to harness and convert into useful electricity.
Dick tracy had the wrist phone, existed only as a figment in the comic writer's imagination.
Good Computers usually took up half of the building.
My calculator was so advanced, that besides the add and subtract, it had a square root function button!
“Spooky action at a distance” is
Albert Einstein’s phrase for quantum entanglement, where measuring one particle instantly determines the state of its paired, distant partner. Coined in the 1930s-40s, he viewed this instantaneous connection as impossible because it seemed to violate special relativity, which dictates that nothing travels faster than light.
Some things travel faster than light.
How does any of that prove space aliens are visiting Earth?
She is gorgeous, an alien may want to mate with her.
There is not a shred of any evidence that physics points a way to interstellar travel. If you want interstellar travel you are working with nothing.
Right. Burchett is just another jackassin' politician.
Exactly like that.
So do I. I tend to think these “extra terrestrials,” are fallen angels, whose goal is deception.
No I don’t insist on chemical rocket propulsion. Th But the only only way to move in space is to throw something in the opposite direction that you want to go. Now the faster you throw it the better it works so let’s look at nuclear as a power source. Uranium has lots of energy, but how do you convert that into momentum? You can heat a gas in the nuclear reactor, but you’re limited by materials plus you need to carry all that reaction mass along with the mass of the reactor. Use ionic propulsion? Actually works. More efficient use of the reaction mass but the impulse is minuscule, and the grids erode with use. Fusion? I’ll believe it when I see it work. What your describing sounds like a con to swindle investors. Get back to me when fusion becomes a commercial reality. Antimatter? Where are you going to get it? We make antimatter one atom at a time in high power particle accelerators. Magic wand? That’s what your solution really is.
Ok, here it is.
There is no intelligent alien life.
We are all alone in the universe.
There, feel better now?
You are correct sir. Interstellar travel is only possible in science fiction movies, or on the cereal box. We can’t get there from here.
“”to either save us or get the earth’s resources, of course. Doesn’t anyone watch the movies?””

Or... could be merely a case of curiosity... ie “to go where no alien has gone before”. That said, I don’t believe that there are “ETs”. I think they’re all right here under our very noses and they’re demonic and getting more impatient, as each day goes by.
Interstellar is possible without mass. Can life exist without mass?
You are confusing engineering problems with physics.
in three dimensions maybe so. Extra dimensional travel, which is beyond us, oh, I guess there is a slight chance of something interesting.
