Here's the thing, though. When the Telegraph asked Glover about being the first black astronaut to make this journey, his response didn’t exactly follow the usual script.
He said: "It is a big question, and I wanna highlight, I guess maybe one facet of this is the tension, I call it. I live in this, and you know, this dichotomy between happiness that a young woman can look at Christina and just physicalize her, her passion or her interests, or even if it's not something she wants to do, she can just be like, 'Girl power,' and that's awesome.”

if he had been rehearsing it, that was pretty bad delivery
I treat people as individuals, not as the embodiment of racial, sexual, or ethnic stereotypes. I know it’s wrong, but I cannot help it. It’s the way I was brought up.
Well said.
Makes me want to vomit.
Compare the staff in mission control with the staff on the Apollo missions.
I hope they are competent.

Does anyone really think the USSR would have left a message having that tenor, if they had made it first?
Somebody ought to respond to one of these questions with, “No, but I’m the first astronaut going to the moon with a penis over 11 inches long.”

It was alittle Kamala at first, but when he went to what he wanted to say, he went right to it, which is completely the opposite of Kamalish.
He’s the mission pilot. I was up late watching on launch day. He was doing a mock run through of the docking procedure using the released rocket stage (I forget what the stage is called) like it is the lander. Working the controls to check handling and responsiveness, lining it up and pretending to dock with the lander for future missions. Giving his feedback of the experience. He seemed to do okay. The wokery I blame NASA, not this guy. I really don’t care about their personal stories. They got a job to do, so just do it. Quit telling me how extraordinary they are. Still, it’s very exciting to go back to the moon.
“That’s one small step for a man and one giant leap for mankind” wasn’t considered Shakespeaean at the time, it’s worn pretty well for 50 + years I’d say.
When Christina Koch was asked how it felt to be the first female astronaut to leave low earth orbit, she said that she wanted to be remembered just as an astronaut.
Maybe not.
Christina Koch emphasizes the importance of representation, stating that seeing women achieve significant milestones in space can inspire future generations, particularly young girls. She believes that having women as part of space missions is crucial for progress in the field
“NASA has gone from the Right Stuff to the right color and right gender.”
You mean to tell me that NASA went out to find the absolute best 4 astronauts in the entire country and coincidentally they looked like the cast from a Netflix movie? That’s just crazy talk.
“Do you think this astronaut realizes that he may just be the token black member? The woman too. Did they get there on merit or for any scientific purpose?”
I’ll tell you what makes me question the racial and sexual make up of the crew; simply look at the pool of candidates. I would bet anything that there are many more white males than any other demographic in the space program. The crew looking like a Netflix movie is just too coincidental.
“”It is a big question, and I wanna highlight, I guess maybe one facet of this is the tension, I call it. Sounds like word salad that AOC or Kamala would spew out.

NASA made a big mistake in hiring Kamala’s speechwriter to put together pre written responses for him to memorize,
I’m surprised no-one has posted “The Old Negro Space Program” video yet.
Did you intentionally cut his quote in half to make him look bad, or were you too lazy to read the whole thing?
“NASA has gone from the Right Stuff to the right color and right gender.”
Good one! I hope it’s not true.
I didn’t have to do anything to make him look bad. He accomplished that himself.
