Cheryl Hines is speaking up after a former late-night television host called her out. It's a feud five years in the making, but is only now heating up.
Hines is now responding directly to allegations that she and her husband, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., sold comedian Chelsea Handler a “toxic” $6 million Los Angeles home. The transaction took place five years ago, leading Hines to question the timing of Handler's complaint.
Speaking on a forthcoming episode of the Fearless podcast, Hines pushed back on Handler’s claims, suggesting they don’t quite add up. “She bought this house five years ago, and she’s just now complaining about it,” Hines said (via People). “I don’t know that she’s getting a lot of sympathy from people. She’s buying a $6 million house.”
The Curb Your Enthusiasm star also suggested that Handler's use of the word "toxic" doesn't make sense, either. The former Chelsea Lately host claimed that the foundation had issues, along with a list of other renovations.(snip)
According to Handler, she was unable to move into the home for five years after purchasing it from Hines and Kennedy. She described the property as “f***ed up,” claiming serious issues were missed during the inspection process.
“It was a disaster, and I didn’t know it going in because everything was, you know, under wraps,” Handler said, adding that contractors allegedly told her the house “is the most toxic environment.” She also claimed the home required two years of renovations.
So why bring it up now? Hines speculated that there could be another motive behind Handler’s accusations: attention. “So, what are you going to do? She’s trying to get a laugh, I guess, and some likes,” Hines said, suggesting it’s “probably fun for [Handler] to make fun of” Kennedy.

There is such a thing as title insurance.
There are also home inspectors the buyer usually employs to go through the home and check everything before the purchase...
All I know is Chelsea Handler is batshit crazy
“According to Handler, she was unable to move into the home for five years after purchasing it from Hines and Kennedy. She described the property as “f***ed up,” claiming serious issues were missed during the inspection process.”
Sounds like her problem is with whoever inspected the home not the sellers.
I guess the little hollywood airhead never learned the meaning of Caveat Emptor.
Yep. The banks demand it. Handler is full of Obama.
Chelsea Handler has whored around so much to where I don’t think she can thing straight.
I think Chelsea Handler is a toxic nightmare.
There is E&O insurance....
Hines isn’t far behind in that regard, not to mention a stone cold idiot. Chelsea is a lot of things but stupid she is not.
She didn’t escalate ... she called B.S. on Handler’s claims.
One thing to keep in mind, Handler bought the house back before Kennedy became left enemy #2. Also, she bought it sight unseen. Her problem, not Kennedy’s.
Exactly that property was probably given a rectal exam before the close.
I wouldn’t have complained while I was still fixing it up either. She should have had it inspected first obviously but that is a ridiculous line of attack.
“ She should have had it inspected first obviously”
What makes you think she didn’t? Of course she did.
Chelsea Handler is a trashy woman. And she’s FOS to think we all buy into it took four years for her to be able to move into the $6 million house. The home went through inspection before the sale. I am not buying her bs.
In other words, she's not escalating anything, she's making a reasonable response to an unprovoked and probably actionable attack.
...Robert F. Kennedy Jr., sold comedian Chelsea Handler a "toxic" $6 million Los Angeles home.
It's a travesty that talentless hack Chelsea Handler had $6 million to spend on a house.
<>There are also home inspectors the buyer usually employs to go through the home and check everything before the purchase.<>
That’s addressed in the excerpt.
Chelsea Handler ... the human toilet.
Heck, when I refinanced my mortgage, I had to pay a few hundred dollars for an assessor to come out and inspect it. That was BS
So Hines was being truthful when she said that they ‘loved’ the house that took 4 years to make habitable ? I don’t think the Kennedys ever lived in it.
